Thread: JL questions...

I have attempted to "create" a decent system in the past and have failed so I'm pretty much stock now.

I am gonna have a custom box made to fit where the stock RF sub is now. The guy said that they could fit a JL 12 inch woofer in there.

Now my question is, where the hell can I buy JL products online? I don't think that its gonna be cheaper going through him. He quoted me $275 for the custom box with installation.

I"ll also need an amp to push the sub. I'm a newb so I dunno wtf I'm doing thats why I'm having someone else do it for me.

I just wanna buy the stuff outside then take it to him to install everything.

My budget is $600 with sub amp and installation (the box) so basically $325.

Any suggestions? thanx in advance for any help.

crutchfield is so expensive though. I see the same stuff on sounddomain for like $20-$30 cheaper. But they don't sell JL.

i bought my infinity 10" woofer on ebay for 15$ shipped...no damage at all and sounds perfect...they got pretty good deals on ebay if you catch them

i ratha spend a couple dollars on quality and peace of mind than gettin jipped on ebay...i kno ebay is good and alot of shit are legit but ive heard of instances where people buy audio equipment with the sony labels glued on..idk thas jus me

that RF amp you had was hot too bad your car's an 04 and decided to be a pain in the ass lol.

you can probably add some bass into your car by splicing the audio signal in the wire on the stock SUB itself, instead of trying to go thru the headunit. We tried that and for whatever reason, it didnt work.

You still have the wiring in the car? we could put in my amp and box and see what happens. just to make sure we didnt have a bad amp from before.

for $600, you wont get too far if youre buying brand new and with installation. better get ebay parts, an amp from stereodirect in ebay, and probably a sub from tradingcircuit, shop around from reputable sellers, good luck!
