Default Where did you put your Stereo Amp?

My old car was a honda civic coupe and the rear seat had a wooden back and I could fold it down when I needed extra room. My 03 spec-v doesnt have a back to the seats or fold down, so I do not know where I can hide them. I dont really want to attach them to the back od my dual 12" bix because I like the ability to take the box out without unplugging all the wires when I need all the trunk space. So my question is where did you put your amps?

Both of mine are under the seats, along with my capacitor. Lower center of gravity ftw.

My two amps are currently on the back fo the box...You would be 100% correct about how annoying it is to not be able to easily remove the box...

Winter project is to build a false trunk back to go against the back of the seats, where I will mount the amps and a new cap.

Yea mounting behind the seat would be the best but its not an option on mine.

Do your amps get hot under the seats? Also, I will have people in the back seat frequently. Will they be keeping the amps or are they pretty well covered

There is plenty of room under the seats, don't see how they would get any hotter than in the trunk. I don't have any issues with people in the rear seats, but it depends on the size of your amps.

I have a rather large 4 channel amp but my mono amp is small. I will have to place them under the seats and see have well they fit before I mount them in.

I never liked under the seat because I don't think that there is much room for it to breathe. Atleast in the trunk, the heat could spread out more.

Ive seen more than one amp get fried from spilled drinks, and cars with unknown bad leaks. My sisters neon had 2-3 inches in her passenger side becuase the sunroof drain clogged.

Well no issues for me in almost 5+ years with amps under there, there's more air circulating through the cabin than the trunk IMO. I don't really drink anything without a cap on it anyways, but that is a good point.

Those are good points I didnt think about spilled drinks. I dont ever spill anything, but my girlfriends daughter will be in the back a lot. I'd hate for one of my amps to get ruin because of somthing simple like a spilled drink.

I just looked at the room to put an amp under my seats and my 4 channel amp is way to big to fit there, so im going to have to figure something else out.

You could build an amp rack in the truck.

I looked at building an amp rack today. I have never built one before but I think I could come up with something that looks good. I was also looking at the possibility of adding a piece of plywood and finding a way to mount it behind the seat. Not sure yet. Im still working on the best idea for me.
