Thread: stereo recommendation

hey wut up guys, iv been looking at car stereos for awhile but i cant seem to find the right one tht has good sound quality, looks good, and has an ipod connection all in one. iv been looking at the kenwood kiv-bt900 but it sucks tht it cant play cds. so my question to u guys is wut stereo would u recommend? i want to have at least 4 volt pre outs but preferably 5 and it has to have the ipod connection and aux, and i want it to look nice of course, so wut do u guys think?

ve been using JVC decks lately, they offer more decks with built in 7 band EQs for cheap

also in have the pioneer premier deh-p35 in my car right now, and i love this stereo, but its very old, my bro bought it bout 7 yrs ago and gave it to me for when i got my first car, but its still works fine, but no aux or ipod, and im tired of burning a new cd everytime i download a new song. but i jus found this adapter Pioneer DEH-P350 Pioneer IP-Bus to iPod Dock and 3.5mm Headphone Jack Adapter Cable does anyone know if itll sound good? by tht i mean sound like a stereo tht came with the ipod connection?

Should sound just fine. You mentioned your hu is pretty old though, does it have the IP-Bus needed for the adapter?

I've had it for two years now. Excellent stereo. If you do some searching, you can find some good deals. When I bought mine, I ended up getting it for $120, barely used. Again, this was two years ago.

I have the KIV-BT901 and love it. I had the KDC-x995 before and liked it alot with the 5v pre-out and 5-band eq but my fav was the Pioneer DEH-P780MP which has 5v, 16 band eq, TA, 24 bit Burr Brown DA converter but the iPod control sucked. I just use usb and iPod now since all my CDs are on my iPod or usb stick. I do this for a living and I have been liking Kenwood lately because the still have quality. Been disappointed with the other brands lately. Just some food for thought.

the bt900 is a great deck i work at a stereo shop and we just put one in a customers altima not to long ago and they love it the only thing you have to take into consideration that to get you ipod audio and video on that unit that you have to purchase a seperate ipod cable from kenwood but other than that it is an awesome unit

thanks for all ur input guys, i decided to buy my bros kenwood kdc-794 since he needed the money, i got for for 150 and my pioneer hu wit the ipod connection haha, so far im liking it, but im jus still trying to get use to it, it as sooooo many settings, im use to my old pioneers simple treble, bass, highs, mediums and lows
