    Default B13 Roadster? Opinions!

I recently had an idea (somewhat dumb, but I seems like fun).

I'm wanting to pick up a cheap running 2 door B13, 5 speed. Preferably an SER, but I would feel kinda bad to ruin such a car.

    My idea:
Chop the roof off, have a roll bar welded, tear everything on the inside out and spray it in some kind of water proof paint (truck bed liner) and add drain hole, have the seats wrapped in something water proof, and just drive it on days it's nice out. Park in the garage the rest of it's life.

I thought this would just be a fun thing to do, and fun to drive on nice days. My dad has always had a thing for wanting a convertible car, but for some reason he still wont buy one (probably my mom complaining about her hair when he opens the windows. Lol). I figured this could kill 2 birds with giving me something fun to do and giving him that "convertible" experience he always wants.

Doesn't really need to be a sentra, but I have a thing for them, and the b13's can be had cheap (except sers...).

    Any ideas or thoughts? Haha

I would say go for it, but change the vehicle. My thought is a 1st Gen Trooper or any boxy SUV. Cars, especially small econos, will have flex issues. Get a truck-based vehicle and chop away. Open-air safari rides are completely the shit.

ill have to agree anything w/o an actual frame will have flex and warp issues overtime

I saw a pic of a B13 with the roof chopped off. I doubt it was done right, but it's been done before lol.

Even with a roll cage you guys think there will be flex issues? Preferably a welded on cage, but I dont have those skills.. Lol

I wanted a small car rather than truck, but it's an idea. If all fails, Miatas are cool, but people still want like $3k for a trashed car. Lol

youre going to have to do some sort of frame reinforcement. hence why verts are usually heavier than their coupe cousins.

Looks like our mexican friends in Cali are all over this convertible sentra low rider thing. Lol. I'm really digging the chopped top, I can't stand the chrome, wheels, or paint jobs though...
