Thread: Check Engine

OK, so, last night I was running my Spec pretty hard but all was well. Running against a boosted volvo on 84 upstate. We ran for about 15 miles from 50mph to top speed a few times and hitting about 135. I got home and the car was running fine.
This morning I start it up and start to back up out of my driveway and the idle drops real low and almost stalls. I sit for a second and the idle stays at about 700 to 1100rpms so I continue on. about 5 miles later I am slowing down going around a corner and the cars just shuts off. So, I pull over and it starts up fine and I am on my merry way. The rest of the ride I notice the idle varies alot and it feels like it is misfireing. I get were I was going and pop the hood and listen to it. The idle goes up and down and then it stalls out again. I start it and it starts fine but still with varying idle. I go inside for about 30 min come back out and it starts fine. I drive about 3 miles and the check engine light comes on now. I continue home and the light stays on and the engine still sputters.
I have a stromung cat back and that all. Any ideas. Yet to check the codes, on my way out the door right now for that. Thanx

stop using that shitty gas, its gotta be ignition, so check ur plugs/wires. u probably burned off a spark plug tip

Yeah thats what I was thinking, I'm going to the dealer tomorrow @ 7 to get it checked out. About the gas thing, I only put premium (93 not 91) in my car and I never let it get under 1/4 of a tank so hopefully that wasn't it. I drove my mom's car today and didn't touch mine either just to be safe.

and then I hit a racoon and F**ked my moms car up a little last night. No worries though, shes gettin a damn Scion tC and I'm trying to get her to get the TRD shit and supercharger. LOL My moms whip is gona be faster then mine :x LOL

My car randomly starts running rough and the whole engine is shaking and there is no power at all. The ses light is blinking. So i took it to auto zone and it there the random misfire code. I changed the plugs and even the coil stems. I still have the problem. It usually happens when its humid out. Any help would be apprectiated.

Multiple misfire could be bad coilpack/blown plugs. I'm assuming you loctited your butterflies and what not so if that's the case check your spark plugs. Most of the times that's what it is and a relatively cheap fix. I'm sure you'll find out more when you take it in.
