I just got a spare to have reflashed and just wondering what all needs to be done other then removing/installing the new ECU. I really want to test the spare before sending it out.
Just trying to figure out how much time I need to set aside to test it, if it's just plug in/start up or if I need to do a few of the pedal dances before sending it off.
I do not have the NATS system so I don't have to worry about having Nissan program my ECU/Key to work.
Thanks.
all you should have to do. if theres nothing wrong with the ECU. is plug it in at start up
If both ecu's are for the same type of car and the cars are not modded in any way, then it would be plug and play.
There might be the slight chance that you will have to do a throttle relearn.

There's also a chance of the BCM not accepting it because the ECM would have 2 different vins loaded.
i duno what 5l is, but f its no nats shouldnt be a problem
Jones & Wuk-Up
Yes, and you need to clear that up before you do the flash. The consult must flash the ECM with the correct information. Anti-theft crap basically. Like I said, it might work without it. It's possible that the BCM will just copy what's on the ECM, but I don't know that.
I know triple5soul has that problem, then again IIRC he has NATS. Again I know you don't have it, but it could pose a problem anyway. Just try it and if it works, then you're good. Make sure to drive around with the spare one just in case it wants to go bazonkas on you after 10 miles.
