My questions are:
1. how difficult to install?
2. after you install it, can you sort of "turn off" the unit? what i mean is can you put the unit in a mode where it does NOT alter the ecu signals? basically return the car's functions solely to the stock ECU?
3. can u tune it without a wideband o2 sensor? you just need to know the o2 sensor voltage right?
Basically, I need a temporary fix to my exhaust leak, my car is just dumping gas like crazy. I drive about 200 miles per week, about 198 of those is highway, with NO traffic, I have to go to the gas station twice a week.
Thats 16 gallons of gas=200 miles= WTF!!!
I can tell the car is running rich because I have damn soot all over my bumper. I dont want to spend more money fixing my exhaust leak because Its coming from after my test pipe, the flange is sitting in the wrong postion leaving a gap. Well that and me not running any cats lol.
i have the same thing..i get 200 miles every 13 gallons, wtf
i want to know this too, but i think i saw somewhere that you can have it in the tuned mode and regular mode..i think.

1. The wires have to be soddered in.
2. Once installed, the unit itself won't turn off, unless the car is off. However, they give you 3 setting to switch back and forth from. So you can have one setting for your tune, and switch back to 0% correction for stock ECU settings.
3. You need a wideband.

Not difficult at all, it just a matter of following directions and finding the right wires.

ash where did u get ur safc tuned?
I have a guy in New Jersey who does the tuning. He installed my turbo, exhaust, tuned my car. He's a very nice guy and knowledgeable. He used to be a Nissan Tech as well. If you guys are interested I can get in touch with him for you.

dyno time is usually $150 an hour at most shops and they charge you for 2 hours of tuning to tune a safc
but are they reputable?
