Default Apexi Neo2 on a stock cam/compression Spec worth it?

A friend of my brother has one for sale. Is it needed with just bolt-ons on a 2006?

    Thanks

Yes. Guaranteed your afr's are dipping into the low 10's around 4.5K and up.

Well the car is stock for now. Wondered if it was needed. He was asking $180. What is a good price for a used one?

    I'm confused...

    Is it an Apexi SAFC2
    or
    an Apexi SAFC Neo?

I am not aware of an Apexi Neo2.

Either way, the Neo is the newer model and $180 for it WITH the extended harness is a steal. $180 for an SAFC2 WITH the extended harness is about on par for what I have seen them sell for.

The guy said "NEO 2". The front of it said "Neo" only. Not sure if it had the harness. What's it worth w/o the harness?

Is that all you can do with SAFC is adjust a/f ratio?

Other than using it to monitor stuff, yes. All it does is alter MAF voltage.

That's why I wouldn't pay anywhere near retail for it. I would just get a tune for that $.

Unless you got at least $300+ put aside, i'd say no.

I bought my neo for $150, didnt find out til afterwards that i'd need a afr gauge/reader of some sort. another $180.

Welding the o2 sensor bung, $25. I skipped out on the ssi-4 which could help (though its really not needed), but would be an extra $120.

I'd say no its not worth it. But i have one, and all i have is a 4-2-1 header and 2j pulley and cai for performance boosts.

I am also using it as a secondaries switch, but it doesnt seem to be working right (following the tutorial with the relay posted on this site)

But i got mine for $150 with the extended harness. Couldnt turn that down.

Thanks. Forgot about the a/f guage. Planning ahead for intake, inbtake mani, header and cat back.
