ok guys soo that P0172(bank1) code is back again after i changed the o2 sensor in the pipe before the precat can someone please explain why this code would keep coming back on .... what kinda gas you all use ?? cause how could the same part go bad 2 times and its saying the same bank1 again not bank 2 and the ses light stayed off for about a week before it kicked back on again
i am sorta shit out of luck here can anyone try to help me out ?!?!?! thanx guys
i dont think you would have to worry about it if you change the manifold to a header. Get youself a header and no more codes, your Cat is probably going bad.
bank one is prolly just clogging up the precat, and sending a signal to the sensor that not enough air is passing through...
get a header, lemme know how the power feels...
alright sooo look into a header ..... what would u recomend guys that wont break up or sound like shit with the magnaflow crap i got in there now and be cost affective right now since i obviosely dont have a job in NC yet
oh the other thing i was thinking is if i should lower my grade of gas i put in cause the gas around here doesnt have ethanol in it and ive still been usein 93 still and i wonder if that has something to do with it im thinking about switchin it up to regular 87 or 89 but 93 might be too strong around here idk if that makes any sense but u guys know anything about that ?
It shouldnt have anything to do with you switching fuel grades. Dont bring it down to 87, the lowest you should go is 89 thats if theres no 91.
ethanol is for clean air shit...
fuck clean air and get power.. i only use 93, anything less knocks(badly)
i used 87 once, and it suckedddd
never again. plus the manual says for specs 93 is ONLY recc.
the manual says 93 for spec v's?? i thought it was 91
ye 93
i've been putting 91 this whole time. damn.. someone told me it was 91 but i forgot where i got that info from.
hmmm i dont know i think the no ethanol in the gas is making a difference the car is runnning rich as hell all the time even without the code on and the car struggled to start last night for some reason it was like flooded it seemed idk mad weird
if ur runnin rich, this could be the cause....
bank one is clogged, sensors detects less fuel so it accompidates by sending more fuel, running rich.. more fuel floods the chambers, boom done..
this is wat happend to me... i went through gas like it was water when i had this problem...
Where are you buying 91 from ?
I think only shell and sunoco sells that.
There's a gas station around me that sells 97 I believe.
97 is good to use? does it burn faster?
hey nooch, should i continue to put 91 or should i put 93? is it a big deal or 91 is fine..
The higher the octane the better depending on your application but you'd think it'd be better for the car but it's actually not. The manual says which grade of gas to use for a reason. You might feel a little more power but the spark it makes and whatever affects the motor and your motor ends up feeling it - at least that's what my mechanic friend told me.
thats wat i figured....
