Thread: questions about civic del sole

so im cruising down the road, and a little civic del sole pulls up, and i hear his BOV reving to get my attention i guess, so he pulls me in like first gear and i see mad white smoke,prolly cuz it was cold out,
so i get next to him and pull as well, but at this point him and i both got a 1st to 3 pull for quite a bit,
i had a good lead on him, i asked him wats his setup... he had "6 psi, single cam,3 inch turbo back,5 speed,dropped,"
and i herd him running it hard too...

can a spec really have an advantage on that little car, or was his driving crappy?


btw i was at DPA yesterday, and saw maaaaaaaaaaaaaaad civics,
wats with those stupid holes in their bumpers, i feel more and more people are doin it?

with 6psi and he has a sohc he's probably pushing close to 180 to the wheels. those d16 motors are crappy, there redline is about 7k and for the bumpers with the wholes, they do that because it's better for aerodynamics to cut the wind (so they say). they can be beaten by a bolted spec. but if they put the boost higher, theres' nothing esle we can do lol The ones to worry about are the b16 with bubbles or CRX's

so then u can say i beat a turbo car? lol

if you won, hell yea.

if that car didnt have a turbo, it would be pushing 115hp to the wheels

so with a turbo at 6psi it might have been pushin 180? find it hard to believe...

And this other guy had it at 8psi-190whp, 170wtq and at 12psi-220whp,210wtq with the same d16-series motor. YouTube - SOHC turbo on the dyno

so if the guy you raced only had 6psi he's probably around 165-175hp

theyre slow i beat a couple boosted hondas and vw's

What kind of VW did you beat? I find that hard to believe if you raced on the highway.
