im not too engine smart to know this but i need help on what to do. i want to keep my cat on my stock midpipe that i have on my 1.8 now. but as the look of it, i dont think i can. i want to be able to pass emissions here in NY and i dont want SES light. also right now i have everything stock from the headers to the axle and in october i had a "Nismo" muffler welded on that i found out it wasnt a real nismo it was like the 350z fairlady hks nismo edition muffler. as far as sound and a good price whats a good catback??? im on a really tight budget and this is the last thing i want to do to my car. remember its a 2006 1.8. what do i need to either buy or do. ???
thanks guys.
Well first of all nice header you purchased. And dont stop modding just cause you have a 1.8.
As far as installing the header goes, its the same process as nooch and johnny will go through. And im sure they will help you out, its not hard. Just take a few bolts of the stock header, remove the stock header put in place the new one.
Also for SES lights, I think its the same process as well as the spec's go through.
HKS makes the best exhaust for ur car but its a bit expensive. So what you can do is either save up for that or get a custom exhaust at a muffler shop and just pic out the muffler that you like. I recommend Nismo or Apexi Ws2.

bro from the looks of it u cant leave ur stock midpipe. u have to change the whole thing... the header is a shortie...
the only thing u should leave, which by the looks of it u are. is the cat.... u still will pass emmisions if u space out the o2 sensor...
