I thought of gyms, libraries, restaurants, banks (actually, not banks), just off the top of my head. What are you experienced in? I think you work on cars, right? That's obviously a field to avoid these days with dealerships closing, but do you have a CDL? Maybe find a driving job. Perhaps think of it this way: anything people are still going to buy should remain busy- food, cell phones, clothes, housewares, etc- people still buy that stuff. Check any where that sells or distributes it. Also check into cleaning, cleaning anything. Stuff gets dirty, you know. Clean cars, do yard work, etc. Also check with internet and cable suppliers, folks are always changing their service.
2k4spec;u ship my shit?
blk03specv; you ship my shit????

blk03specv; lol but im not black?? lol.. i assume you mean my car haa
2k4spec;yea lol
check Con Edison they always hiring.
Personally I would start talking to people I know (not internet friends and such) because those are the links that pay off the most seeing as how friends or relatives may be willing to reccomend you to others since they know you on a personal level already. If your really adament about finding work I would suggest getting into all sectors to find work such as local business's because they are actually the most motivated to find hard working ppl they can KEEP (more large scale companies like to use the hire and fire method). Have you tried any career centers/days/meetings? that might be one of the best ways to to get your resume and business (contact) card (which you should always keep handy) flowing through hiring managers. Another solution might be to find two part time jobs if things are really tight or hell this might be a good time to go into business or sell expertise and knowledge that you have to others on a small business level.
What is your job history or what do you like doing the most or are interested in? that also narrows down your search as well.
cleaning always hire and its decent pay... the food business is always gonna be in demand. and im not talking fast food lol i mean like distributers. but good look hopefully u find something.
yeah im auto detailing for 5 yrs i went for a change when i moved down here got into electrical contracting unfortunetly money is shy with people work dropped .... sooo i got kicked out u know how it goes but yeah trust me ive talked to lots of people everyone seems to be in the same boat sooo yeah experienced any construction framing electrical plumbing painting the whole 10 i built the house im living in me my dad and my little brother soo yeah auto detailing and customer service for 5 yrs and assembly and automotive experience any work that deals with working with my hands got experience in
oh and the problem im running into the most is people sayingthey are hiring i can be the first there and i know im not a dipshit and can do anything with minimal training but they say ohhh we need someone soo bad and never hear back from them soooo wtf im getting kinda frustrated its like im broken or something nobody wants to deal with me and trust me being a nyer out here just makes it that much harder my accent sounds like i just moved down here today and people are extremely rude to us down here soooo thats another thing workin against me im a damn yankee lol snow bird etc ....
this may sound dumb.. but apply to best buy down there, and slowly work your way into the services part of the store.. magnolia home theater drivers and installers make like 25 bucks an hour.. me as an audio installer, pay is great, and they help you get certified to work in any vehicle.. truthfully, i feel im better than the dealers BECAUSE i can work on any car, electrical and mechanical(some what). people around here come to me first opposed to going to their dealer first... i got people who have door lock issues, window issues, radio issues, factory amp issues,
your gonna have to start low in a crappy position, but you work your way up in about a year, and get certified !.. just to give you an example, im mecp certified at the master level.. which is audio/video/security/fabrication/ wiring/ electrical properties and values/ foreign and domestic.
i can go with the hometheater guys too, but i like staying in my bay lol
word they send u to classes and shit or need any background education ? the closest best buy to me is about 45 miles away soooo yeah gotta make it worth it u know and even if i still think im gunna be last pick i mean im not going to give up but thats just way way im feeling right now cause ive never had to apply as many places as i have and not get a job
u had to buy ur own tools or did they supply ? What position should i apply for in order to get into the services department and as an electrical contracter i know wiring and snaking wires and the whole deal and entertainment ive been doing it for myself as a hobby auto entertainment would take some getting used as u know i went to you to get my shit installed lol i designed the bedroom i have in my room here as a movie theater i definetly know what im doing hi def projector surround sound dvd cd the whole thing that is the type of stuff u are talking about i assume
