I've been runing and testing this out for a good 1 month or so.. i been working on making the MAF housing bigger. so i purchased a 3" pcv pipe and customized my own housing. (just for testings)
The stock housing on the 02-06 ser/spec v/02-06 alimas is about 2.5- 2.75". I had my tune set to a perfect 13.0 before this and all my corrections on my safc was in the negatives. With the new housing I had to actually add 10-40 positive corrections points to each High throttle rpm points. The ECU was starving for more fuel like crazy.
Overall I upgraded my injectors and fuel pump so i can have more room for tuning instead of almost maxing out the correction points on the safc2. I didnt have to upgrade but i did it anways
The AFR at idle sets 17.0-21.0 and before this mod it was at 14.5-15.0 (normal)
To control the idle I had to add positive corrections at low throttle. example. with stock injectors my correction was set to +33 from 800rpms to 3000 rpms. yours might be different but keeping adding corrections until your afr is set at 14.5-15.0 at idle.
No ifs or buts.. It is a must to tune ur car after this mod. I looked at my afr when i took it for a WOT on the expressway and the afr readings where at 18.0 yea i know could of melted something, actually i looked at my plugs and they was starting to melt the tips.. so yea Tune the car after this mod.
iight lol it's ugly but this is how i did my testings.
When i went to dyno the car, I looked over both before and after dyno sheet's. Overall this mod is mostly for Midrange power
Torque: at 4000rpms- 6500rpms i gained an average of 5tq across the board.
HP: between 4k-4400 rpms gained 4-6hp, then from 4400- 4800 gained 10hp. at 5500-6k I gained 5-10hp. Then from 6200-7k it gained 2hp. With that said even tho i gained 2whp at peak, across the board is wut made a differnce. I also notice that my peak Tq this time was 5tq more.
I will have dyno sheets up this Weekend.. I have the before in my photobucket but i left my current dyno sheets at my friends house in NJ, I'll pick them up this weekend and take a picture of it and i'll post both sheets up.
If you guys are intrested i can get a group buy going. It will deff not look like that of course it will be made out of chrom/aluminum. It will be a plug and play all u have to do is take ur sensor out of ur stock housing and install it into the 3"maf housing. Pricing wise will be about 80 bucks shipped. Depending on the material costs. i'll update it as the weeks go by but I'm just gathering intrest right now. When i have 1 product done i will post up a group buy with the list names, price, pics ect..
Now for the questions and thoughts...
UPDATE: I'm still working on it but this is how it looks so far gotta make 1 more adaptor piece so it can be screwed in nice and good.

the before dyno was in November. dont know if weather made a difference since i only gained 2whp peak lol
ooh you sneaky bastard i saw you show this to someone prior to dyno'ing and i read your 'possible groupbuy' on myspecv...hmm im most likely down as i need to squeeze out more power..
dyno sheets are up
trademark all your shit and send it to other companies and make some money....but im def down for a group buy
baby i speak french..come here n let me show u my WEE WEE..........
this fool drives a s2000..ill win then me and my dad can cruise together
yo lemme know when u got these available so i can buy something else from you lol
just waiting on some materials to be shipped to me
update: finally, first adaptor made. it has 4 holes, 2 of them will be holding the sensor (which has threads in it) the other 2 holes are straight through to connect to the 3" housing. Please excuse the pics of how the spacer looks but that spacer was used as a test dummy. The other ones wont have all those lines/measurement on it.

Up and running. It's all okie dokie.

hm..just metal on metal seal? any gasket material btw the two pieces?
yes the gasket thats on the sensor, u know the green or brown O ring, well that sits really tight inside the hole. You actually have to wet the Oring and apply pressure for it to seal. It's snugged in there.
cant really tell with boost cuz i'm still getting used to the hp lol but when i was n/a i could deff feel it.
too bad numbers never showed but u where always beating all the other spec outs there..wouldn't b surprise if the dyno says u make 220 now with boost LOL...![]()
Taking back an old thread to life. Need the Vq Tb to do this mod?
