Default Car sputters and shuts off

For about 5 months now, everytime i come to a stoplight, slow down for a turn, the car would sputter, and shut off. Sometimes the car would sputter, shut off completely, like all the lights would come on in the car indicating that it shut off, rpms would be all the way down, and all of a sudden start right back up.

No SES light, well i had the SES light but its for my TPS. which has been a problem for about 2 years now.

But the TPS hasnt been acting up as much, like it will happen once a month or so.

As for the car sputtering and shutting off, it happens almost every day, or every other day. I mean i can drive the car, but once i come to a light or slow down almost completely to make a turn, it shuts off. Car starts right up though.

    Any clues?

    Edit, found this on b15sentra.net
This is how it is at a stop light, or complete stop.

Looks like its having trouble finding the idle. As for the TPS problem.... i just had a major problem with my tps... i was continuously getting a tps code and i was warrantying throttle chamber but it turned out the pins in the connector were loose. So i chopped a connecor off of an old harness and wired it in and problem gone.

gorilla: No i dont know how to check them? Advice please. And no it doesnt sputter on acceleration, once i give it gas its fine.

Chris: When you had your TPS problem, did your gas pedal not work? Like when you step on it, your revs go up really really really slow as if you had like a piece of paper on the gas pedal. But the car doesnt move. Its like in super super safe mode? If it did, must be the same problem i have, how much is a new harness at the dealership?

^that sounds like a tps problem. I also had that problem, it was my wiring in the tps i guess cuz it's in a bent position but if u have a safc u can see if it's ur tps by looking at the throttle percentage. And u can just get a tps clip not the whole harness. alos look into the 00-03 maxima tps clips they work as well. Look around the wiring close to the clip soundsl ike the wiring in there is getting cutoff.

thanks nightrider, im gonna look into the clip. Ive changed the TPS 3 times already, and still nothing, now this is happening, so maybe they are all related. Ill check the clip when the weather clears.

I origionally tried to close the pins over but no such luck. I just chopped the clip with like 6" of extra wire off of a harness. If i happen to find another one somewhere I'll gladly hook you up.

illoosionz to check the coil pack disconnect 1 at a time starting say left to right take first one out if it does change the idle of the car put it back and continue down the line if u pull 1 and it makes the car run good that would be the bad coilpack

basically if 1 of them changes the idle and makes it runs good u have a faulty coilpack

now im not gunna say u guys gave me horrible information last time i asked for help but u all had me running around in circles for what it was and it was a damn coilpack soo before going crazy with the tps and or butterfly screws etc etc etc and such just do this simpe test to see

but if this doesnt work continue with the tps

Thanks gorilla, gonna bring it to my uncles shop and have them look at it. How much did the coil packs run you?

Also Chris, so you cut the wire off of another spec? Did you splice it to the existing one?
