so heres what i had to put up with last night

my brother's 1998 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP.

he was having problems with a transmission line; there was a leak and the tranny was slipping and then he fixed it and it was running fine. But it must've blown again, thats what started the fire. Fortunately he's fine and he was already preparing to get a new car anyway. He's looking into getting an acura tl (sweet)

gonna miss the car tho; supercharged = fun!

    hi guys, thanks he's ok.

well, started about a week ago when he noticed he was leaking fluid and the tranny was slippy. So we open up the hood and right away see that a clamp for the line was offand tranny fluid was spewing out everywhere.

I wasn't there when him and his friend fixed the line but they put in my tranny fluid, drove it around and there was no leak and tranny went back to normal.

    5 days later this happened.

So, what happened was the line came off again, spewed out tranny fluid all over the engine bay. Some of the previous stuff was still in over the engine bay as well.

All that fluid all over the place, and yea ur gonna get a fire; spark can come from anywhere, sparkplug engine im sure.

Now, he only started to really smoke while he was pulling up into park. The reason he wasn't on fire driving home on the highway was because he was going fast enuff that the air rushing in was probabl snuffing out the flame. However when he slowed down, nothing was preventing the flame from growing.

It started off small and we thought we could use a bucket of water to contain it. While he was doing the buckets i rushed and got the fire extinguisher. I sprayed as much as i could into the engine bay but there wa s no way to open up the hood. At that point u can see there was nothing left to do

so here are pics from today. Geico wanted it off the street and into a some body shop or someplace where they can access it. Fortunately im freinds with my guys at midas and they said it was cool to have it towed there.

My brother made an appointment for the guy to come so we'll have to see what happens.

He's got fire and theft, and this is obviously a total loss so hopefully he'll be getting the totaly value which is around 4- 5 grand

On a lighter note, i was dispointed that they towed it so early -
I had called dibs on smashing the rest of the windows (ive never done that b4 so i figured its good practic...hey he needs a new car rite?). And then we were gonna use the rest for paintball target practice. heh

speaking of paintball, here are a few pics from last weekend where i played
