    Default B15 vs B16

Just recently i found an 08' sentra spec V for a great price and i'm thinking of trading my 05' in and upgrading to an '08. So i'm looking for some advice about the B16 Ser spec V's. I understand they rev alot higher and have 200 hp, but i also see that they weigh a few hundred pounds more Anyways i'm doing a search here for anyone who's turbo'd a b-16.

when i first saw them i thought the same thing, but now for some reason i kinda like the look (not as much as my yellow b15 though) -- i'm looking to find out about the performance between the two. From my calcs, the spec v b15 has 15.4 lbs per hp @ 2710 curb weight and the b-16 has 15.39 @ 3048 curb weight -not much of a difference there.

if you take a look at my b16 problem you will find my take on them...i own one and im not liking it... the only reason why mine is still stock is because i've been told that intake and exhaust just make it worse SO, if you are gonna turbo it right off the bat then go for it, just don't let thier problem get to you like it got to me

Intake and exhaust make it worse?? People are dynoing at almost 200whp with just basic bolt ons, lol.

well it's supposed to have 200hp stock.... BUT if you read my thread "B16 PROBLEM" thats what i am talking about. My friend put I/E, and when the car started to do that bullish, it was 10 times worse then mine and mine is stock...

Big difference between 200 horsepower at the crank(stock 07+ spec-v) and 200 horsepower at the wheels. Unless someone royally fu*ked something up an intake and exhaust shouldn't make a car slower or worse than it's stock counterpart.

    I wouldn't do it...

I like my round big booty B15. The B16 looks narrower and has too many sharp parts/edges.

As far as the problems goes, they will come with any car.

agreed... im not saying an intake and exhaust is going to make it worse... unless it does the problem i am talking about. if it doesn't do it then your grand! (and lucky). if you have a 07+ spec then you might know the problem i am trying to get solved. I like my car until it does the "problem" ...then i hate it.

What is it with the "vs" threads, but ill say that done right, a b16 can look decent for what it is. Seeing as nissan made it look like a prius and I don't know if they did that intentionally, it doesn't look half bad with a nice drop and rims or even lip kit.

But imo b15 wins, better lines, little too curvy at times but tastefully done right can be a nice car. And I mean NO body kits, wingless yes with a decent rear lip, and if your lucky to snatch a nice full lip kit then u might be one of the lucky ones or just a straight baller lol

i love the b15 i think its the hottest sentra ever made....as for the b16 i not to crazy about but they make more power then the b15....but if i was you id keep ur b15 u already have it u dnt need 2 make more payments like with the 08 ud have more payents which means more 4 spent on paying it off rather then on the car itself...i say keep ur $ n boost ur b15

I love my B15 sentra but i'd appreciate a 94' SE-R sentra with a SR20 swap and as for the new B16's I'd take on, maybe not over my 04 but they are nice and look really good with a two tone fade of yellow to black!

A couple of guys have rocked the B16 to make it look good. Off the bat, it's not the prettiest, but looking back now my 06 B15 was pretty ugly when I started off with it. Lol.

The B16 has some sweet stuff though. Thanks to the revamped QR, it's more reliable, revs higher, and produces a little more power. Boost is always an option, they just came out with a kit iirc. And basic bolted ons/tuned with a SAFC, I've seen 215whp come out of one.

They may weigh more, but what new car doesn't? If you don't mind giving up the B15 for the B16, I say go for it. There is as much potential for it as the B15, but the B16 market seems even smaller. Lol

B16 Flywheel weighs about 25 pounds...thats the main power loss, when it comes to looks/style everyone will have their own opinion but the stock intake and exhaust are actually extremely decent, the car dyno's only between about 170 hp and 180 hp but if you can replace the flywheel with a lighter one you will make close to 200 to the wheels.

I heard that you have to take the engine off in order to access the transmission on the b16.
