Thread: Jerry's 700+hp Turbo/Built VQ Project..

In the coming months, I'll be working on Jerry's revamp.. In case you didn't hear, Jerry ran over a deer, knocked his oil filter off, and ran the engine without oil. The engine, pretty much destroyed itself.. This is the car that went high 11's @ 115+mph, on a bone stock bottom end, with mild head work, cams, and nitrous.

Jerry's goals have changed, drastically.. At first, we were just going to toss in a new engine, turbocharge it, and build it sometime down the road, for more power. However, Jerry just found out, that he will be deployed until this fall, and we will have more time/budget to work with, so, he's going all out. Here's what we've "loosely" kicked around..

VQ35DE block, with block guards installed
Ported VQ35DE heads
JWT valve springs
FI-R spec'd turbo cams
VQ35HR head studs
VQ35HR head gaskets
00/01 VQ30DE-K cooling mod
8.5:1 C/R forged pistons
Eagle H-beam rods w/ARP 2000 bolts
ARP 2000 main studs
VQ35HR oil pump
SSIM ported stock intake manifold

Precision 71mm compressor upgrade and GT-Q trim turbine upgrade (Currently has a 61mm/P-trim)
FI-R VQ swap turbo kit
Upgrade to FI-R VQ swap intercooler kit
ProEFI standalone engine management system
Upgrade to 96lb injectors
3 bar MAP sensor
Twin 190lph fuel pumps
-6an fuel feed line and return
Battery relocation kit
Methanol injection kit
Upgrade to Tial 44mm wastegate
Upgrade to Greddy Type R BOV

JWT flywheel with 250mm 1200kg/heavy duty clutch
Cryotreated transmission internals and case
FI-R drag-ready adjustable air ride rear suspension
26 x 10" slicks, with modified fenders to stop rubbing
AEM True Boost

This setup should make around 700whp, max, and around 550whp on pump gas for daily use. First 9 second B15, anyone?

Well I hope u reach ur project goal travis but not for nothing whatever happen to ur other project you post'd last about hitting 600whp+? Well good luck & stay more focus this on this project maybe by the end of this season we will see sum record breaking HP sentras

Which one? The blue Maxima? That's actually happening right now.. My customer just finished paying for the last few things, and as soon as I finish with Andrew's swap, I'm going to start working on it. It took a while, because the customer had made a bunch of changes (mainly at my suggestion), and it took a while to pay for the entire project. You know how it is.. Most people don't have 10K+ to fork out on a built motor/turbo kit, standalone, etc.. all at one time.

That's cool.. I mean, if you guys don't want me to post pics/updates here, along the way, I don't have to. I don't say that I'm going to do things and then not do them.. Sometimes it might take me a little while to get it all wrapped up, but, I usually hit my target/goal.

Well I'm just going by ur other threads on project cars of you claiming HP just haven't proven it. I'm not here knocking the quality work you do. Just finish the project & let the quality work speak the final #'s. Feel to Keep us updated on how the project is going.

I don't think that I make very many threads claiming HP.. Can you show me what you mean?

We're prototyping this setup on Barry's car.. We're going to use airbags to prevent the rear of the car from squating, basically.. It'll be a bolt-on kit when it's finished.

here are a few threads you start'd & also sum of other mod's that we are still waiting for to see. I know your a salesman/business man but these are sum major projects you keep talking about & it wont happen in 2months more like 6-8months. I will like to see one of them done before the end of this season. Stay focus & i'm sure you will accomplish your goals.

why are you using twin 190lph pumps when you are advertising this latest greatest thing you've come up with? shouldn't you be show casing this stuff on your "builds" to get people to buy it?

A simple read of the title of the thread that you posted, and the title for this thread would answer that question for you. A single 255lph pump will not support 700+hp, now will it?

Upgrade from a 38mm gate.. which is also inadequate for 700+hp.. I used the word "upgrade", because we use a 38mm gate on the standard kit. 44mm is an "upgrade" over the standard gate.

Why is methanol injection a joke? Do you ever understand how it works? Just because his engine has a low static compression ratio, doesn't mean that it won't benefit from running methanol on pump gas, at higher boost levels. Meth will increase the net octane of the fuel mixture, allowing higher boost levels on pump gas. Is it "necessary".. no.. Is it cheap insurance for a built/expensive engine? Absolutely..

How is a standalone a waste of money? Piggyback tuning, and reflash options are a joke, in terms of trying to properly tune a engine making this amount of power. No.. the joke, is someone spouting nonsense, who has no idea what they're talking about. I mean.. if you're built something like this, and want to "show me how it's done", then, by all means.. please do. I don't need to flash my credentials for all to see.. Then, there's always the option of just not viewing this thread, if it really bothers you THAT much.

I mean, I've only been around for 10 years, and have built God knows how many vehicles.. Now I'm "all talk"? I mean, it has been a few years since I've built anything insanely fast, but, sheesh, cut me some slack!
