    Default Qr 25 ITBs

I was told to start a thread on ITBs for the QR25 So here it is
We are going to do R&D on two kits for this engine
    1. the first one will be for a SF style body
    2. the next kit will be a Webber DCOE style for guy that might feel the need to go old school with carbs or Jenvey TH/TB style body

IS this a kit that will make things better or not for the QR25

Honestly, I think you'll be lucky to sell 5-10 of these.. It's a small market, and people are penny pinchers.

All the BS aside, I'm interested to see what kind of power you guys can make. I just don't think that people are going to want to spend that kind of money for a set of ITB's.

Where is all the "more options" bullshit?

I'm not sure if we have a spec-v in Florida who can give you the car for days.

I'm sure someone said that about the VQ swap, too.

QUESTION.... will the TPS be reading off only one of the flaps?? and what about the Mass Air Flow sensor that our QRs have?? how will that be incorperated since it's on the intake tube will you use a box to top over the ITBs and keep the intake set-up we currently have??
If you can figure out how to make this thing work without using a stand-alone I will most def. be in line waiting for one

If you go the stand alone route then you don't have to worry about the MAF. If you don't we have a plenum that the MAF can bolt to. It will be slightly more restrictive than the open ITBs. This plenum would be either thermoplastic or carbon fiber....your choice. A similar plenum made from aluminum will be used for boosted applications.

Once again if you go the standalone route this will not be an issue. Otherwise we are working on something for non-standalones as well.

UpRev Osiris can drop the throttle codes out of the ECU and keep the ECU from shutting everything down because of the throttle. Otherwise the option is standalone.

Depending on how strong the return springs are, (in theory) you could cut a factory throttle body up and use the electronic throttle body to operate the ITBs. UpRev Osiris gives you access to the drive by wire tables too.

We thought of that but decided against it because we feel it will look ugly. We're trying to find ways around it....I have a few ideas though

if you look at the post , you will see , i offer an air box or air filter.
the air box is for you guys that want to use the maf air flow sensor, the air filter is for the guys running down the stacks.

Drive by wire will no longer be used if you use a standalone, a cable will come with the linkage kit.

Power will depend on compression, and head port work, and cams.
You can look forward an increase in RPM , better flow ,equals more power.

The price is not set yet but it will NOT BE , that crazy price of $3,500 !!

I would guesstimate $1,400 for a full COMPLETE kit

More info will come with pics of the build soon !

Just like the I put in Travis' thread , the COUNT DOWN HAS STARTED !!!

    Stay Tune

And they sure clean up the engine bay real nice like

$1400 seems quite reasonable IMO. Hell....I've spent $800 on machining....and that didn't make any power or make anything pretty....lol

$1400 sounds perfect to me if that's for the complete bolt-on kit for the DBW MAF application. I don't like using stand-alones because I know how finicky the factory ECU is and am too PUSSY to mess around with it too much, that's why all my tuning is done with SAFC-II and CONSULT-II/III at my job. Anything from timing to airflow to data logging I can do with those three it is limiting in some aspects, I admit, but it's my sense of security being my Daily Driver....

I already started putting cash on the side for this :-)

Another question before we all start getting over anxious... would you happen to have pics of any of your previous ITB builds so as members of this forum we can get a rough idea of your work

Ahh the Consults....I remember having to show my Nissan Tech at Maroone Nissan how to go in and change timing with it....lol.

And yes standalones can definately be a pain in the ass....but once you have them working right they're just as easy as an SAFC or an EMAN.....but you do have to know what you're doing. NA motors are a lot more forgiving IMO compared to the detrimental damage you can do with a standalone on a boosted motor...lol
