    Default Ramrods Track BUILD UP

After much weighing of options and trying to get my VQ swap off the ground. I have decided to take the big step and rebuild my QR to withstand a thorough beat down and come back for more. The end result (NA/BOOST) is still up in the air but a strong foundation will be laid for whatever is decided. I'm starting this thread to document everything and hopefully get some good feedback and help from you guys. The car has seen a bit of track time but I took last year easy as it was starting to burn a bit of oil and thought it wouldn't be smart to push it hard anymore. I'm hoping to return strong this year and humble some other drivers out there with big money cars.

    Wish me luck

The parts have slowly started trickling in and hopefully I should have everything I need in the next month or so.

    PARTS INBOUND
    07+
    crank assembly
    signal wheel
    signal wheel bolts
    crank pulley bolt
    valve stem seals
    head gasket
    rear main seal
    head bolts
    rods

Waiting for crank and rods to show up so I can match the proper bearings.

Currently I'm undecided on which piston to go with. The 07 Spec is on the list of possibilities. 2J suggested a frontier piston for lower compression which would go nice with a treadstone kit. decisions decisions. Please discuss.

I just got the block back from C&C Performance in Manassas VA. They honed the cylinders, cleaned the deck and washed the block. It came out looking great.

The head got dropped off today to be ported. Along with a 3 angle valve job and de-shroud. Then it will be reassembled with JWT springs, new valve stem seals, C1 cams, and maybe some titanium retainers if I can find them. Planning on spinning to somewhere around 7200rpms after a reflash.

2J Racing came through and shipped me the last set of slotted only rear rotors they had. These should replace the tiny stock sized rotors nicely.

For now I wait for parts.

This fat ass box showed up today.

    What's inside?

    07+ crank

    Valve stem seals

    07+ rods

Altima/frontier crank trigger wheel with bolts

    07+ head bolts

07+ headgasket and rear main seal

picked up these springs from 2J-Racing

I'm picking up the head tomorrow. Ported with a 3 angle valve job and deshrouding. Need to order bearings and piston rings tonight and decide on which pistons to run.

    Anyone have opinions on pistons??

These came in from NISSPORT today, water temperature and oil pressure gauge adapters with an extra port for an oil feed line to a turbo. No need to tap the oil pan

Perrin universal steering column gauge pod mount will house some prosport halo gauges.

A fresh JWT clutch and pressure plate came in last week to replace my old one. The old one still has some meat on it if anyone's interested, I just decided to freshen it up since everything's apart.

    Lower temp thermostats

I ordered a few turbo goodies that should be inbound shortly.

    There's something NASTY coming soon.
