    Default QR25DE oil pressure ?

I placed this n the turbo section since the info is for my Holset build...looking at trying to find out what the oil pressure is on idle and 6K rpm on our motors...to figure if I need to get -3AN or-4AN w/ restrictor for the oil in...if anyone has this this would be GREAT!

These are way off for me... mine are closer to:
    20-30psi @ idle
    70-80psi @ 3k
    100ish @6K

"I think we need to do a little street racing 101 and understand that, you know... as a general courtesy you should, uh, floor your car an additional 100mph over the speed in which you start. It's just like the, uh, '100mph courtesy'... You start at 60, you don't let off 'til 160. You start at 30, you AT LEAST go to 130. And attempting to, uh, run like Houston interstates with traffic directly in front of you... These 60 to 80 pulls; these 60 to 95mph pulls... What the fuck is that shit about?" -IMV Films

Sounds like you are running too thick of oil.

Wow that should be great for the Holset than...it need no less than 10 @ idle and no more than 70 @ 6k ....I see too many other 4 bangers with this turbo running restrictors mainly since they have over 100 psi of oil pressure...BUT to be on the sfae side I plan to place a temp oil pressure gauge and see the exact pressure that would be feeding into the turbo...thanks for the help guys!

Just make sure you wait for the oil to heat up cause it will definitely go over 70 when cold. Mine used to go over 120 when cold and reved to 4k. And you will need to run 0w-20w. To get that low of numbers. And I had over 160k miles on my 04.

    Oh wow, didn't know that...now I'm doing the oiling issues....it needs a 16AN oil drain!..what a pain...

So getting thinner oil is better to keep low oil pressure then. Can you find 0w-20w at any standard place? like Autozone?

so if I use 5w30 or 5w20, just plan to use a restrictor then? So the thinner the better?

Yes, thinner oil = lower oil pressure. Too high of pressure means oil isn't going where it needs to which is generally not a good thing.
And you should be able to pick up 0w20 at Autozone I believe. Otherwise Redline makes a great 0w20 if you don't mind spending a few extra bucks.

Yeah its $35 at advance for 5qts of Castrol Edge 0w20. SO it's thinner than 5w-20, the "w" is for the wieght, and the 20 is for? Sorry if I don't know what the numbers mean in motor oil. I always get 5w-30 on my regular oil changes

0 is the cold viscosity, 20 is the hot viscosity. I know hot is tested at 210* F, not sure on the cold.
But basically a 0w30, 5w30, and 10w30 are all the same thickness when warm, the only difference is the thickness when cold.

Yeah it;s in a sandwich plate but the new oil is very thick so I'll let it break in first.
