Talking Input and opinions needed for new build

So yeah, I wanna get straight to the point. I don't wanna ask (or repeat) any stupid and annoying questions and I don't wanna wait any longer on this build. So I decided to build for turbo (stock internals) until next year that I should have enough for a full build. I've done so much freaking research and I realized now it's good time to drop this thread. I'm listing my mods hoping you guys can give me your input or opinions about this being good for starters, this WILL be the first time I step up to the F/I leagues. All comments, negative/positive feedbacks are welcome, but please don't be too harsh lol.

    Turbo Setup:
    Garrett 60-1 ball bearing turbo
    Tial 38mm wastegate (10psi spring)
HKS blow off valve (don't know the specs just yet)
    Treadstone intercooler
    2.5" Treadstone intercooler piping
    Custom log turbo manifold
I'm not sure what size downpipe and exhaust for this setup (looking for 320 max whp)
    Deatchwerks 440cc injectors
    Walbro 255lph fuel pump
    SS braided oil lines
    SAFC Neo
    ARP head studs
    Felpro MLS head gasket
    Supertech block guard

    Other Extras
    Energy Suspension MMI's
    Koni pollyurothane wheel hop aid
    2J-Racing lightweight pulley
brand new Nissan tensioner and belts
    SS braided clutch line
    Running stock clutch

Let me know if this setup should keep my motor in one piece for a whole year, if I might be missing anything as far as electronics or safe guarding. What recommended spark plugs, better brand in any of these parts, piping sizes and so on. Again, I do apologize for repeating any questions if I did (even though I said I wasn't lol), I barely get on and I will be periodically checking on this thread. THANKS A BUNCH GUYS !! Turbo coming in about 2 weeks or so

Turbo is too big for a stock internal engine.
Injectors are too small 440cc looks like you tried to type. 577s (what ever the SRT 4 injectors are would be better) 2JRacing can hook you up
Get the 5psi spring for the Wastegate then adjust boost with a manual boost controller (safer)
Block guard not needed?? many opinions on this.... I dont have one.
try to do 3" DP and full 3" exhaust

other than that, things look good. Good luck!!

**edit** ur gonna need a better clutch!! (while ur at it get a flywheel too Fidanza or F1 work well)

Corn dog took the words from me. Lol.

Precision makes a killer billet 50 trim turbo, 2JR has 2 left on their shelf, it's what I'm running. PM them for more info. You don't need a 3" DP for your current goal, but bigger would be better. As far as the rest of the exhaust, ideally you would want 3" all the way back. I'm using an electric cut out on the mid pipe, and kept the catback I had on from before.

440cc's max out right around 9psi-10psi. You want to run them at least 20% or so below there max point. SRT4 stage 1 injectors are 577cc, and usually $50-100 on ebay. 2JR can get you clips to avoid chopping up your stock harness, it makes it a plug and play deal.

Get a 5 or 7psi WG spring, and get a treadstone or the likes manual boost controller.

You don't need the headgasket or studs yet, I would wait until the build for those.

And you may not need a new clutch. Most don't have a problem, but it will be easier to get too before the turbo stuff, might as well. It will need it soon enough.

NGK iridium step colder plugs. I forget the part number, but if you do a search you'll find them on here.

2JR vacumme block. Boost/AFR gauge? I chose zeitronix ZT-2. Also look into the thermostat mod, and the PVC mod along with a catch can.
HOW TO USE THE B15U.COM SEARCH!

THERE HAS NEVER BEEN ANYTHING MADE THAT DID NOT HAVE A PURPOSE

I appreciate your many great advices guys corn dog I'm buying that turbo because I'm getting a hell of a sick deal on it and I thought since I'm building for big boost next year, I knock that off the list. The injectors I will definitely consider in getting. I'm only thinking of boosting about 8 pounds during the break in period and maybe raise it to 10 until I build ? Ofcourse I will be acquiring a manual boost controller and a boost gauge with a wideband. I bought the block guard not knowing if it was necessary when I first thought about boost. The gasket I'm getting now because I blew mine already unfortunately -_-

    PM'd

So all that's left is a boost guage, manual boost controller, bigger injectors, and a wideband. 3" downpipe and exhaust is good enough back pressure with 2.5" piping guys ??

well if you are going built n high boost, might as well buy the turbo 1 time not twice (they aint exactly cheep lol)

Turbos hate back pressure the less the better (helps spool up and top end power) so if you are getting a 3" DP might as well do 3" all the way back and do the exhaust once also. VRS 3" piping is $175 shipped and its great quality (im running VRS piping + Vibrant muffler)

Exactly why I decided to get this turbo, I'm telling you I won't get it cheaper than what I'm getting it brand new. I would want low end power too, suggesting maybe keeping the butterflies on, is it possible to tune it to open when the turbo starts to spool? I don't wanna be boggy at 3,000 either :/ something to keep me moving JUST before crazy power kicks in.

ONE MORE THING, I plan running on stock redline (not enough to do valve train), is there a higher redline I can reach safely?

so how much exactly are you paying for the turbo?? butterflies can be set to open at certain boost psi (some one explained how but there is no "how to" at the moment)

Stock valvesprings can do 6500 OK BUT you need a JWT reflash for 02-03 (or uprev for 04+) to raise your redline (looks like u have a 02-03) IF you get the JWT reflash and 630cc injectors INSTEAD of the SAFC you will be better off, Later when you build your head you can send back your ECU to them and they do a higher redline for cheep (cuz you already bought their tune)

Interesting, so if I send them my ECU to be reflashed, how much would that cost? Also, will I be able to tune my car keeping the redline they do or does JWT do everything when they reflash?? BTW the turbo is costing me $800 BNIB (checked the price on Garrett and it's freaking $1,300 for the modifications this one has). Turbo is dual BB has ported shroud and upgraded 7 blades (.70 a/r).

Get the Reflash thru 2JRacing here: (cheaper than going thru jim wolf) B15 JWT Turbo Reflash (02-03) - Turbo

You have the option for stock or raised redline up to 7200. With a Reflash your car is tuned already just plug and play (you HAVE to use 630cc injectors with this)
If later you decide you want bigger injectors you can add a SAFC to re tune.

thats a DAM good price!!! i can get 60-1 for about 600 bucks new but thats a homie hookup LOL so ur price is dam good for dual BB

Dam you have the massive hookup! The price I got was from someone I work with, I wouldn't say a close friend, but a good colleague of mine lol. At least I don't have to pay for the extras, the turbo was already ordered that way I spoke to my buddy and he has a set of 600cc Deatschwerks injectors he's gonna sell me, so that should be good with the tune right? I hope it all comes out perfect, I can't wait for the build !!

    Interesting, thanks again CORN DOG!!

On another note I had a friend tell me I should install the wastgate with a 10 psi spring if I'm running 10 psi on a stock motor. I don't know if the spring rate matters, but I guess I'll be looking for another spring for my Tial.

I wouldnt do a 10 psi spring on a stock motor. Its better to run a 5psi spring and turn the boost up with a boost controller, If anything fails, you will be maxing out at 5psi, the other way 10psi is the lowest u will be able to run no matter what.

CRAP !!! You just tutored me in spring rates for wastgates lmao (I'm such a turbo noob ). So I'm gonna get a 5 psi (maybe 6 if available) for my wastgate. Where can I buy one of these springs if I can't find it here? I would imagine Tial website?

Found a spring on ebay for $33 shipped. I'm not sure if anyone has ever boosted 10psi on a 60-1 with a stock long block, but I sure hope the SAFC Neo is fine tuned for reliable power Wish me luck!
