So my car is parked for the winter considering I live in Canada, but a couple weeks ago I installed exhaust and then of course ran the car and it idle perfectly. Since then I gut my pcv added step colder ngks, and added new manual boost controller. and the car will idle perfectly at 15.2 afr then within two minutes it rpms drop and ofcourse the car leans out on the wideband. It wont stall just slowly corrects itself. it did eventually clear up after the car was warm but the idle was high just around 850 rpm.
I did do an idles relearn and it then idle around 700rpm and started to do the same thing. just wondering any suggestions that could resolve the issue. btw there are no codes showing no misfire.
Put a non gutted pcv back in the car. Idle relearn and see if the problem persists.
But through past threads I have heard gutting the pcv is a most on a boosted motors!
Is the valve vent on the driver side of the vc hooked up to your turbo inlet? If it just has a filter, that is your problem right there.
Read the 2J pcv mod write up and it should explain everything a lot more thoroughly: PCV mods and 2J Vacuum Port
I'll replace that then, I just have a filter connected to driver side pcv, since I have a treadstone intake pipe there was nowhere to connect too.
Yeah, that'll do it. Not only is the gutted pcv letting a bunch of unmetered air enter your manifold during idle and low throttle, but you'll have boost escape through the valve vent under load as well.
