ok so i have a 2003 spec v turbo running on a 60-1 garret turbo kit and 440cc injectors, walbro 255 and safc2 the problem is when the car reaches the 5k-6k rpm range for some reason it does like a glitch sounding like a small fuel cut but my wideband says 11.8 11.9 or sometimes 11.7 so i have no idea what is causing this. it is a brand new engine forged low compression pistons and rods everything new from top to bottom so im guessing its a fuel system problem please help
any ideas anybody????
how much boost are you running? 440's are way too small for any significant amount of boost (read above 7-8lbs). you are probably beyond the duty cycle for the injectors (stock injectors are only 310cc, so 440's are only slightly over 100cc's, so not much dfference).
it's probably time to invest in new, large injectors. 630's are basically the minimum for anything over 10psi, ans if you're on a built motor, you'll probably run more than 10lbs. buy new injectors with either adapters or pig tails, since most injectors aren't our plug style (nippon/denso). or find injectors that are plug and play.
some times my car goes lean just driving around with safc at max and what i do i take out the fuel pump and i put everything back and it goes back to normal maybe this is what is causing the fuel cut any ideas?
im running 9 psi on a garret 60 trim
^ yup.
as far as your fuel pump, i don't know why you'd take the damn thing out. your injectors are the bottleneck in your set up. on a built motor, and a 60trim at 9lbs, you are waaaaaay beyond the duty cycle of the injectors. you'll need 550's to 630cc injectors minimum. if you want to stay in the ballpark of 9-11lbs, 630's will be perfect, and would probably carry strong to 15-18psi, my guess not knowing your build.
your posts are not detailed enough for any real help, so if you want more answers, divulge more information. right now it sounds like you have too small injectors and an incorrectly installed fuel pump, and you are probably in a severe need of a tune. hope you don't shit a rod out of your block.
ok thanks for the info guys ima have to check it out
