Hi guys,
Just wondering of you can help me on the best place to put the maf. I'm looking at tuning my car with a safc2 and using a greddy type rs bov with plumb back adapter.
Do I put the maf between the air filter and turbo, or on the intercooler cold pipe? If on the cold pipe is it best before or after the bov.
Thanks,
Dave.
I've seen it done both ways. Mine is on the charge pipe before the maf

If you BOV is recirculated, then you can put it between the filter and the turbo, but if your BOV is vented into the atmosphere then put it after the BOV.
What turbo kit and bov are you using?
Some are recirculated others are atmospheric.
You can only place the maf in the turbo inlet pipe if the bov is recirculating the vented air. The other way is to place it between the TB and the BOV. So it would look something like this.....
TB>>>MAF>>>BOV where >>> = approx 18" or so.
The only thing you have to worry about with a blow-through setup is the axial orientation of the MAF on the charge piping. You could get wierd readings if the MAF sensor isn't positioned correctly. Meaning, you have to rotate the MAF around it's axis to correct this issue. Just a heads up.

Yeah just depends if you want to vent the BOV or re-circ it

I like it this way. If you have it earlier and end up with a leak somewhere then you're AFRs are going to be off. Granted there are a couple of couplers even if you have it 18" from the TB but there are alot less places to have problems. Plus if one of those couples popped off, putting it back on can be done in a flash, without having to possible remove the bumper/splashgaurds to get to something
