Thread: Look wut i found in my engine!!! update 4/10/09

well for the past few days i have been having issues with sparkplugs and misfiring and such, and i thought i sucked up a screw because everytime i've been misfiring my sparkplugs would be all banged up and the tips where always shut so i also thought it was cuz i was leaning out in some parts of my rpms. overall i have went through 12 sparkplugs in less then a week. Yesterday i had the same issue so i decited to take alook again, and wut do i find? a piece of metal inside my sparkplug. I was hopeing to god it wasnt a seals from the pistons. So I took my Intake manifold off and i find more pieces of metal inside the Intake manifold, WTF? so i was thinking it can be from the intercooler but who knows? idk. but i took every lil piece of metal out with magnets and so far so good. But i'm still curious where is this metal coming from.

did you drill too much in the oil pan? maybe its sucking in some metal? look at the bright side, all the metal you see and hear will prolly all pass through and youwont have anymore lol...

seriously, its only reaching you IM and thats it?maybe it is the IC, try taking it off and shakin it a bit.. maybe the core inside broke apart

deff not the oil pan. It has to be from the intercooler and up cuz the metal pieces where all found in the IM, so wut i might do in the mean time is just put a mesh over the TB and see if more pieces try to go on in. Or probably stick a damn vaccum inside the intercooler if thats possiable lol

DO THE FINE SCREEN MESH, BUT YOU THINK WITH THE FORCE OF ENTRY OF AIR IT MIGHT BRAK THE SCREEN? I SAY SHAKE THE IC AND CHECK IT OUT

those peices def look like either the core came apart, which is very wierd, or someone put that shit there. did you buy the kit from someone you know?

it's metal

then its not from the IC then, it might have been inside of it though.

i fail, i remembered u said u got it out with a magnet earlier

i just hope it didnt damage the pistons or the valves, i'll find out when i take the head off and install the other parts

with peices that big i would assume there would be some damage

no smoke or anything, it runs like normal as of now.

wut about peices from the piston ring? but then why would it be in my IM? idk. It was found on the upper IM like sitting on the butterflies

yea but some of it obviously got in the cylinder too. hmmmm i dunno man, youll find out what when u take it apart and do the gasket

you know whats wierd which i just noticed didnt know if u thought about it yet but those metel pieces look like the one in the spark plug right on the inside there that metal piece u see it kinda wedged in there for some reason u said u changed 12 sparkplugs and those pieces look the same as the one in the spark plug..... is anyone else noticing this or just me maybe u had soo many pieces in there cause they are falling apart one after another

nah i checked each spark plug and they all had there tips on them, that was the first thing that crossed my mind.

i see there's a metal piece next to the white part.
