    Default Trav4011 F-

I ordered a part from Travis on August 31, 2011. He cashed my check for $318.00 as soon as he received it. Months later, after my repeated calls to his full voicemail, he has still yet to send the part or return my money. He sent me a PM months ago telling me the part he was using to make my order was in at Nissan and I should have it soon. After that, he sent me a PM stating he had stress and depression issues causing the process to take even longer. Now it's been well over a month since his last reply. He's posting on this board but can't find the time to send my money back.
Since I started having this issue I've had other board members tell me they've bad the same types of issues ordering parts from him. If you order something from him... GET THE PART FIRST... THEN SEND YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY!

Sounds like you havent been a member very long, this thread will be disregarded by most ppl on here. Im sry for the troubles you are experiencing. However, Travis is extremely well known by this community for his workmanship and quality. He's not a thief and will get to your job as soon as possible. I personally think he has the problem of not turning down jobs, taking on too much. This slows him down too much imo. But he never sacrifices the quality of the work.

Sorry to hear that. Everytime I post something about Travis on here or start a thread it always get deleted. Nice going Mods SMFH. Well I hope you get your funds back & don't let him talk you into waiting longer for the items you paid for.

I gave Travis $10k over a year ago for a motor swap.......I'm still waiting because its understood that when you're wanting something that isn't "off the shelf", you're gonna have to wait. He isn't gonna burn you, but to have a custom anything made is gonna take longer than a week, month, 3 months......especially if R&D have to be put into it. PM him instead of having all the anti-Trav fanboys whoreing up their post count to talk shit.

I dont care what shop you use OR what the hell ur getting, But OVER 1 whole YR for a motor swap?? Unless ur getting a Juke R built, or putting a LS1 RWD in your B15 then that is simply not acceptable.
A good shop and or builder will tell you "roughly 3 months" expect that to be 5 months (thats how the car game is) But 1 yr for a simple motor swap VQ b15 is simple now esp for trav, (assuming thats what you are getting done)

I tried Buying his 3" exhaust via COD (charge on delivery, meaning when box shows up at my house, i pay. Never replied to me so I went with the proven VRS piping) After reading all this, I would not send $400 buck to some one and wait 6 months.

I work very hard for my $$. Travis need a process specialist to work with him, The other person takes orders, sets up deliveries orders supplies etc, Trav does the building. I hope with his recent merger with the other performance company, shit like this becomes a thing of the past.

Some people love travis, some hate him. The truth is he does bad ass work, has alllot of knowledge and likes what he does. He does how ever sucks at customer service.

    Just facts.

His customer service may be sub par compared to say a pro speed shop that specializes in Honda motor swaps with a plethora of motors in a warehouse and 8-10 employees but for 1 man doing swaps on a low market platform, by himself, in his personal garage, all the while, innovating for a community with little to mediocre aftermarket support is just fine by me.........not to mention doing 3 or 4 projects at a time and picking up side jobs here and there while waiting on parts or constant flake-outs from machine shops that charge one thing one day but hop the price by 50% to do the same job next time. When this all first started, Travis was doing this community a favor. Everyone wanted work done by FI-R and a few other companies crashed and burned trying to survive in the B15 community but Travis, through all his personal issues, continued to put more on his plate to satisfy a bunch of impatient and ungrateful customers who, at the time, had no one else to go to. Now, with 2JR in the mix, they can put up with the seemingly endless "I wanna make 1,000 hp but I only have $500 and I need it done by tonight." phone calls........and my personal favorite "I wanna get some work done and its gonna cost $2500 so I sent you $800.......Hey Travis, I know I already paid you 1/3 of the total invoice and you've already bought and fabbed parts, but I changed my mind and now I want my money back.". Can Travis be a little slower than a multi-employee shop that does 90 motor swaps and builds every quarter, sure......will he fuck you over......absolutely not. You can also be assured that his quality of work will by far surpass another shop of equal or somewhat greater size.

Under your mother lol......I sleep just fine. I know that after Travis is done with Bryan's car, Jerry's car and Barry's car, mine will go. I can do without the $10k. I have my priorities in line so it isn't an issue of how long he's had my money. I work 50-60 hours a week so I work hard for my money too. I knew (and Travis informed me) that I would probably wait a good deal of time to get my car done. It's a little more complex than a run of the mill VQ swap so it isn't like its something that he's gonna be able to slap together in 2 weeks. Also, Bryan, Jerry and Barry are all guilty of adding more things to their swaps/builds that ultimately make my wait time longer but I'm not upset about it.

I KNOW that Travis is a good mechanic. I used to really admire him as a person. However, he is a first rate procrastinator at the expense of his customers. Here's the sequence of events to explain:
8/31 - I ordered my part (a fuel filter assembly for my VQ swap) while on the phone with him. ALMOST 5 MONTHS AGO!!!!
9/15 - He cashed the check that I mailed him as soon as he got it! NO PROCRASTINATION THERE! ($318.00)
10/12 - He PM'd me stating he "Completely forgot about it... the parts are sitting at Nissan... I will get it out ASAP" (WHAT??!!!! FORGOT??!)
11/30 - He PM'd me stating he STILL HADN'T PICKED UP THE PARTS FROM NISSAN. (They've been there SINCE BEFORE 10/12!!!) He mentioned that depression and anxiety prevented him from getting it done... and that the part is NON-REFUNDABLE. (how convenient for him... but not his customers)
November 30th was his last reply to me! I have called BOTH of his numbers (985-791-9474 and 985-791-1826) but BOTH have had full voicemail boxes SINCE SEPTEMBER 2011.
That's not taking on too much work... THAT IS DODGING RESPONSIBILITY AND CUSTOMERS!
Anyone that says otherwise is fooling themselves and misleading others.
Oh and before someone advises me to PM him again... I HAVE. He hasn't replied since 11/30/11.
All I'm WAS asking is for him to take 10 minutes to drive my part to UPS and ship it.
Now I just want my money back... and for that he doesn't even have to drive to a UPS store.

Depression/Anxiety plus MANY trips to the doctor are circumstances that you, I and Travis cannot control however, Travis bought a fuel filter assembly from Nissan for you......which meant Nissan has the money......not Travis. I don't think that Travis made any money on this deal lol. Not to deflect your point, but why couldn't you order it from Nissan yourself?

Please just wait for Travis to respond, if people could just stop adding fuel. Lol. We've all had similar encounters, and this usually finally gets his attention. I'm not a huge FIR fan, but he has apparently be going through some tough stuff. I hope this transition of his business helps avoid these situations, and that you guys get it worked out

To reply to JVSPECV... he was going to do some alterations to the part for the VQ swap.
Not sure exactly what the alterations were, but he advised me it was a quick deal once he got the part.
Trust me... I have a Nissan dealership close to my house... I would have just ordered it if Trav wasn't going to make the alterations.
He does a ton of swaps... I'm sure he could use it in one of his future builds, so I'm positive he would not be out any cash... no more than I have been.
ALSO, I agree... shit comes up... but then, if over the course of 4 months, he can work on other people's cars, start new projects, and surf the web posting on this board, the LEAST he could do is get my stuff in the mail.

To reply to thesammy... Thats what I intended to do with this thread since he doesn't reply any other way.
