    Default Side exit exhaust

I am selling my old Stillen muffler in the for sale section and I had some PM's requesting how my side exit exhaust is run so I figured I would post some pics.

Will post a sound clip hopefully within a few hours. I have an oval turbo muffler on it which quieted it down quiet a bit over my magnaflow.

    Is that a chambered muffler?

yes it is chambered. Had a magnaflow glasspack style on there and I could not here myself think so I found a muffler which fit perfectly and sounds very good.

Man, I had a side exit made for my spec, but it was the crappiest decision I have ever made. It would bottom out a lot and sounded like balls, despite having a 22" resonator and a second muffler on there. I had to take it off, since it got me a ticket from the police. props to you if it sounds good and is not loud as hell!

If you run side exhaust and you do not want it to be annoying, you have to use a chambered muffler. You cannot use a straight through muffler or resonator as it does not really silence the exhasut at all. If you give the exhaust more passages to have to travel through, it quiets it down quite considerably. Now I am not saying that mine is ultra quiet as it is still pretty loud but it is not annoying. Actually sounds like an SRT-4, minus the turbo of course...

So you've got header -----> resonator -------> side exit?

    Looks sick...

Too bad, that's probably killing your flow.

Here's the thing.... it's free flowing, and sounds AMAZING.

I ran an open mid pipe for a day and got a headache :/ then added the section that goes to the mid pipe to the catback. It was fun for the day though, I scared the shit out of people!

Sounded like the wrath of God at WOT.

If this guy didn't have a glass pack on it, it would be free flowing as fuck!

Sick, I am working on one too, this helps a lot. Although at my ride height that tip would be draggin on the ground lol. I think I'm gonna have to relieve my side skirt

I have a header, chambered muffler then side exit. I had a free flowing muffler on it and I couldn't stand driving it. I couldn't turn up the radio loud enough to get rid of the sound. If you have ground clearance issues, you could just use a rectangular flat style tip. That is what I was going to use but mine is only lowered about 1.5 inches so the round one fit fine.
