yea your right, he probably got like 15whp out of those pistons. but everything makes a difference. 260 for pistons is pretty good to get a gain of 10-15hp.
what you got done to your car?
i/h/mp/e/cams/bsr/intake mani spacer/ safc II with a shitty tune.
nice...
only problem with shaving the head is taking the head off... my car is a dd and i need it.
well you still have to take the head off inorder to put the pistons in, but then again i wouldnt want to shave the head cant afford the down time.
its gonna take longer to drop in pistons, and more work than shaving the head. down time?? if yor on your p's and q's it can be done i did mine in about 5hrs. but then again i know sr20s like the back of my hand.
and no i didnt shave the head myself machine shop did it. lol
^^That's the truth, putting in pistons will take considerably longer than shaving the head.
how much does it cost to get it done and what gains will it give out?
f putting the b16 pistons cn we use are stock rods? or hv to buy b16 rods as well?
The rods can be done separately, but if you are going to open the engine, put some rods in it. I recommend the b16 rods because they are certainly lighter than the k1 rods (and tool steel.)
Get cams at the same time. Something like BC stage 2 if you have a raised redline. hawt.
