Thread: header gone wrong...

So i just spent the past few hours with my buddy putting the nopi header on i got for the 99 shipped i was so excited to hear what it sounded like and then when i started the car and revved it automatic fail it sounded like a honda with my megan cat back exhaust im so upset right now...if i weld my high flow cat n and resonator will it sound better? I personally think it should but what do u guys think? and i like the megan exhaust when i just had it as a cat back so i want to keep it i just hope a resonator and cat will make it better...

fit the biggest res. u can and the highflow cat will help also

i say get an ws2 muffler and have it weld on. res. or cats are goona do jack shit i vote ws2 muffler

hate to tell u but anyone would have told u its gonna sound like angry bees! but dont feel bad i went through 3 exhaust before i realized ws2 or nismo exhaust is the way to go. but good luck man!

i have a greddy TI-C, its on the loud side but doesnt sound like angry bees

i had the evo2 and no cats and it sounded good. then i had the res go out so i welded strait pipe in and in less than two weeks i got pulled over for it. and it sounded bad. so now i have the biggest res i could fit under there and it sounds good.

Bump for helpfull thread, I've got evo2 and just orderd me sum dc sports header goodness! Yeah bro get a better axle back piece (ws2, or something nice) and slap that huge magnaflo on her, she'll sound hella better!

My megan cat back's hanger broke off due to the snow salt, now I sound like angry wasps cuz it took a part of the muffler canister with it, I'm going with the WS2 muffler and getting it welded right on to my megan cat-back, runnin' wit DC Headers, I agree with (b15sentraspec) Nismo or WS2 even a magnaflow would sound good, just my .02

I'll be doing my exhaust real soon. heres my plan, cheapy ebay header for now... bolt to the stock mid/secondary cat pipe. and then after the secondary cat where it goes to a smaller diameter pipe ima match that with the larger pipe and run the new pipe from the cat ( might not keep the cat not sure yet) to a fat ass resonator hopefully to a stromung muffler. anyone running with a stromung exhaust? i hear they're pretty sweet sounding?
just curious if they is a placece where i can just order a stromung muffler. I'ma bend my own pipes from the cat back.

anyone know the size of the pipe? pre secondary cat that is. and what about the stock cat back?i'm guessing 2 inch on the stock cat back. and 2.5 midpipe?
