Dear Members,
Welcome to B15U.com
In a nutshell, we have a fun, friendly yet informative forum here. We are pleased that you have taken the time to join and become a part of our B15 family, this is not your typical forum, we are human beings and if ever there is an issue or a question you can feel free to contact a member of our staff by using the “contact us” link at the bottom of every page.
Here are some tips for starting a thread:
1. Choose an appropriate forum. If you are a new user, browse through the forums to locate the section that most closely matches the topic of your interest. Please read the forum descriptions.
2. SEARCH, before you post. Chances are the question you want to ask has been answered in great detail previously.
3. Most Important: USE A DESCRIPTIVE TITLE. Other users are much more likely to respond to a thread titled “my motor sucked up water” than a thread with the title “OMFG, help me”.
4. Don’t be afraid to post or to ask a question no matter how dumb it seems, we are all here to help each other, this community exists because of people like you and I that have a general interest in helping each other.
How to post pictures:
There are two different ways to post/upload pictures to a thread.
1. You can host your pictures using one of the following sites (photobucket.com, flickr.com, etc…) it’s free, YES FREE. Once you have uploaded your pictures to your free account you just copy the image tag which is automatically generated ([IMG] [/IMG]) and paste it directly into your message.
2. When replying to a post click “Go Advanced”; when starting a new thread just follow the instructions on the next line.
Scroll down until you see additional options and click “Manage Attachments”, a window pops up and you can browse files and upload directly from your PC to the site. After uploading the pictures you have chosen, finish writing your post and click submit. It’s just that simple
Forum Rules
Code of Conduct:
B15U is quickly becoming your one stop source for all your B15 information. With our large database of how to’s and technical information you’ll be a B15 whiz in no time. We are adding to our knowledge database daily and with input from members like you we shall only get better with time.
The following should make your stay here fun and enjoyable:
1. RESPECT – This should be self-explanatory but for those who still don’t get it I’ll expound. Keep in mind each poster/user is not a faceless entity. Each username has a real live human being behind it. Treat it as if you are interacting with someone in real life. On a first encounter with someone you would never say “hey asshole”. So keep that in mind when speaking to someone new.
2. HUMILITY – Arrogance and cockiness can be considered as confidence, but too much can have negative effects and make people not like you. Be humble whilst asking for help and be humble when offering it. We will not entertain any dick wagging contests (I have the best looking B15; your car is a slow POS etc...). Constructive criticism is encouraged because it is through this that we improve our cars and builds. Being humble is key to helping and being helped.
3. POLITENESS & COURTESY – Anyone can be a rude obnoxious jackass, but we urge you to stray away from being “one of those”. We have all experienced the negative effects when politeness and courtesy are lacking. A tiny bit of effort from you will show other members, especially the noobcopters, how to act/react with/to the other members of the site. In short, it will “set the tone” for the entire forum.
4. FLAMING – Refrain from attacking someone personally just because you do not share their point of view. If one chooses to put TV’s in his engine bay it doesn’t suck, it’s their personal preference. To each his own. You will know when it’s ok to flame someone, but don’t over do it, if the person is a blithering idiot and refuses to listen to excellent advice then by all means…
Important: Please refrain from using racial slurs and derogatory remarks toward your fellow members. Whatever it is, it can never be that serious to make insults about someone’s mother or threaten their life. Remarks and comments that are deemed to be derogatory, offensive or downright threatening shall be removed. If you persist, due action will be taken and you will no longer be welcome as part of this community. WE PRACTICE A ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY, YOU WILL BE BANNED INSTANTLY!
General Forum Policy:
1. VENDORS – If you are a vendor and you would like to start doing business here please use the “contact us” form at the bottom of the page or simply click this link: B15U.com - Nissan Sentra Forum - Contact Us . Even if it’s a shoe-shine or a gosh darn newspaper route, just notify us about it.
2. NOOBCOPTERS – To all our new members and first time forum users: Please post an introduction, we would like to know who you are, we have a section labeled “Introductions” just for this purpose, feel free to tell us a little bit about yourself, where you hail from etc…
Since this is a forum dedicated to cars specifically the B15/B16 Sentra we also have a Rides section. Start a new thread, post some pictures of your ride or rides in there, doesn’t matter if it’s your Sentra, donkey cart, rickshaw, bicycle or ferrari. It’s a show-off thread make it suspenseful, everyone loves seeing each others cars, it’s part of being in an online car-enthusiast community.
3. POSTING – PLEASE DO NOT POST IN ALL CAPS. This is considered
shouting and it’s highly annoying for your fellow users. Try your best to use proper English, spelling, grammar and punctuation. Try not to substitute “4” in place of “for” and “u” for “you”, keep in mind that it isn’t a text message. It’ll help keep things understandable, we don’t need users to decipher each message that they read.
Disclaimer: All logos, the names B15U, B15NYC, NYCSENTRAS belong to this forum, it may not be used under any circumstances without the express and written permission of the owner.
In closing, we would like you to understand that it is not our intention to make your experience here less enjoyable. Follow these rules/guidelines and everything will run smooth. We’re just trying to keep thing organized, simple and easy to use.
Welcome once again and enjoy your B15U experience.
