Default Optimal Air Fuel Ratio on Nitrous

Anyone happen to know what the optimal air/fuel ratio on nitrous is. I am trying to tune my kit but I believe I am running a bit rich at about 12.4 or 12.5 at WOT. Bottle pressure is about 920-925.

93 or 91 octane gas only. use a widban and try to tune to the 11s as best you can....also if your bottle pressure is not steady each time you spray then it will throw off your tune just a bit, so try to keep your bottle pressure the same each time u spray.....

I'm telling you I know one of the drag racing Champs he's a big nitrous guy and he says 12.5 to 1 is perfect. i always try to get 93 octane. he helped me tune and said even with the max timing taken out by the consult II (2 deg. i belive) I was still close to detonating with only a 75 shot. sounds like you got the jets right though. you should find some one who knows how to read plugs and get a fresh set in at the track make a run and pull them. Thats the only way to be 100%. Also colder plugs help too

x2... either tune as close as you can get to 11 or 12/5/1... also stay on top of the plugs as well thats huge! keep an extra set of plugs handy you just never know...i run ngk 1 step colder copper plugs ill give you the part number as soon as i can find the box lol.... also anything a 75shot or up your gonna wanna pull some timing usually 2 degrees....

I am running NGK Iridium 1 step colder. Using a window switch to activate the nitrous at WOT between 3000 and 5800 rpms. Only running a 55 shot at the moment. It seems when I tuned in the 11's my car fell on it's face but when I got into the 12.4/12.5:1 area, I noticed a big difference.

each car tunes differently because of different mods...but the plugs and the window switch you have are a nice help and some peace of mind. Enjoy Sprayin!!! And Welcome to the club!

I run one-step colder copper plugs cause they're cheaper than platinums when it comes time to replace them.

12.5 is about optimal but I like to sit around 12.0 - 12.2 just to give myself legroom.

You should always have your pressure somewhere in the range of 950-1150 as well.

I wouldnt risk it. Personally I would go back to stock timing (which would be good up the a 50 shot).

Also, why go through all the trouble of installing the kit, guages, safety devices, etc just to run a small shot?

I was looking into the ZEX safe shot kit just for a little boost but im being told to just set up a direct port for 10-20 per cylinder. I'm not looking for high horsepower just want a little more go at the track. But it seems like investing a little more for direct port would be an all around better way if im going to approach this idea
