Thread: Getting Ready for Carlisle

so we got bout 2 weeks, what are you doing to your ride before you head out there?

me - today im gonna start off with changing my downpipe bolts and putting in lockwashers and maybe turning down the boost.

in the near future.... engine wash, and maybe the slim ps2 if i get bored next week and neatening up my system wires.

so yea ill be in the garage today if anyone wants to pass by

I ordered the Nitto Neo Gen tires for the 18's today. The guys from STPNYC.org have to tune the whip before we go. Sunday I'll calibrate the wideband and rewire the gauges cuz a friend needs my triple gauge pod before Carlisle as well :wink:

I wanna put on the 18's, get tuned, get a full detail (interior, exterior, engine bay) and that's about it....i'm rollin tintless......

detailing is pretty simple just time consuming

Pre-wash
wash (mix two soaps like meguiers and mothers)
flood the paint
clay bar
polish
wax
seal

If you have hazy headlights get "PlastiX" from meguiers, you can get it at any auto parts store.

Also wash and polish your rims before you start washing the body of the car. For rims buy something called simple green which will get them spotless and you can use that stuff in your engine bay also.

There are many more steps to a full detail but im hungry now lol.

add some vtec while your at it

for those that havent seen my tial!! fuck vtec lol gonna turn down the boost now

lets see...
Change gearbox fluid
install catch can
install boost controller (maybe)
install colder spark plugs
do some tuning so i can save some gas
change front pads
change rear pads & rotors
get exhaust welded up higher

I think that's it...damn, now that I wrote it out, it's alot of shit. I'll prolly get most of it done this weekend.

what plugs u going with? i got a few sets of ngk7 in the crib but your application might be diff from mine. and turbo going back in about now, just turned down the boost
