Woman loses benefits over Facebook photos

BROMONT, Quebec - Photos on Facebookhave cost a Canadian woman her long-term sick leave benefits.

Nathalie Blanchard has been on leave from her job at IBM in Bromont, Quebec, for the last year.

The Canadian Broadcasting Corp. reported she was diagnosed with major depression and was receiving monthly sick-leave benefits.

But when a Manulife insurance agentdiscovered pictures of Blanchard having a good time, the payments dried up.

Blanchard said she was told by Manulife that the photos of her at a Chippendales bar show, at her birthday party and on vacation were evidence that she is no longer depressed.

nah i'd have to see this to believe it... you cant be charged with underage drinking ex post facto based on a picture. but i can see if people under 21 are saying they're going to someones house to drink.. then yea.

So I spoke to a DEA Investigations supervisor today and she said that they love facebook. Think your private settings on facebook are private? Not! they have backdoor access to everything on facebook and myspace. They have made countless drug busts unsing evidence obtained from facebook, myspace and twitter. lol.....yes twitter, apparaently gang members have been using twitter to broadcast gang activities lol. The DEA is also trying to get access to Xbox live communications as well since it is the up and coming way for drug dealers to communicate with eachother.

WOW, but isn't that an infringement of privacy? It's like a wiretap without a warrant.

Can't the end user sue facebook for allowing access to DEA and other government agencies.

facebook is PUBLIC!!!! they need no warrant or anything. you guys should know this. anything you put on facebook no longer belongs to you. no one ever takes the time to read that 10 page agreement thats why lol.
