Pink wire goes to # 85 on relay
Ground wire goes to #86 on relay
Ground # 2 goes to #87 on relay
Y/G harness side goes to # 30 on relay
Y/G connector side goes to #87 a on relay
What you're going to need:
-S-AFC Neo (I don't know how the wires on the V-AFC are)
-1 relay
-Wire strippers
-Solder
-Female spade connectors (for the relay)
-Electrical tape
-Wire crimpers
1.) Unplug your battery, remove the connectors for the ECM.
2.) Find pin #29 on your ECM harness. (Find out what color wire for pin #29 is. 2005 Spec V was yellow/red NOT yellow/green.
3.) Cut about 1.5"-2.5" away from the harness connector so you can strip the wire and re-solder another wire on.
4.) Strip 5 wire ends off so you can wire crimp the female spade connectors on them to allow you to plug them into the relay.
5.) Take the pink wire on the Neo, solder that wire to the relay power.
6.) Take both grounds on the relay and ground it. (I grounded them to the bolt that holds the ECM in.)
7.) For the switch input, wire it to the #29 harness side.
8.) For the switch output when charged, that will be your ground that you grounded on step 6.
9.) For the switch output when NOT charged wire that to #29 connector side.
10.) Make sure everything is soldered together and electrical taped good.
11.) Connect everything back together, and hook your battery back up.
That should be all the steps on how to do it. The diagram explains it better. You won't use the purple wire. I have my secondaries kicking on at 4500rpms, and staying open over 4000rpms. If you have any questions, PM me or IM me on AIM, I will try to answer them asap. Good luck with your wiring and if anything finds the best time to open the secondaries up, post it for everyone else to see.
For the 2002 Spec V I'm getting that it's pin #25 Y/G
For the 2003 Spec V it's showing that it's pin #25 Y/G
For the 2004 Spec V it's showing pin # 29 Y/G
For the 2005 Spec V it's showing pin # 29 Y/R
For the 2006 Spec V it's showing pin # 29 Y/R

In the Apex neo how controled this ? in v tec control ??
I would like to know the same. I'm purchasing a NEO next week, and want to get it to work with my secondaries rather than purchasing an RPM switch. What settings are we messing with in the NEO? What on the actual unit do we need to do in order to change the RPMs that we want the secondaries to open?
Edit: Also, what kind of relay do we need?? Single post, double throw? Any recommendations?

Something like this maybe?

On the NEO, purple is VTEC input, and pink is VTEC output, eh?
If you took the VIAS signal wire #29, cut in half, ECM side go to purple input, then the engine/harness side goes to pink output... Why would you need a relay? You would just set the VTEC signal to come on at 4500, the ECM signal would be taken in by pink wire of NEO, and outputted at a certain RPM along the NEO Purple wire to the VIAS solenoid allowing it to be controlled by the VTEC setting. It would intercept the VIAS signal and control it, right? Anyone have the logic behind this? Suggestions? Sorry for so many posts. I really want to do the right thing.
What about the option like nadjkovic were you connect the secondary as vtec? without any realy, just as you would connect a vtec car?
usando este diagrama. donde se controlan las mariposas secundarias en la Apexi neo?????
Don't just come in here speaking Spanish? Is anyone else speaking Spanish? No?
I installed my NEO and did a write up about it here:
How To: Install, Setup, and Tune S-AFC NEO (QR25) - Nissan Forums: Nissan Enthusiast Forum
Has anyone messed with controlling the secondaries yet? I haven't.
how do u tune with a safc neo?
Just wired it up like the schametic said to. I don't know if the secondaries a set on their own. Or do I have to makr adjustments in the neo in order for the secondaries to engauge at a lower set rpm.
s da relay 5 pin?
bumping this old thread, has there been any results on using the purple + pink wires instead of a relay?
Solenoid doesn't need 12v, it needs a ground. The pink/purple wire gives 12v.

I'm going to install my neo today most likely and would like to do this at the same time but i am confused about this part
Ground wire goes to #86 on relay
Ground # 2 goes to #87 on relay
I got a relay that looks like this one, 5 pins-
Ok pink goes to power, then do you have to grab 2 additional cables to use as grounding cables to connect elsewhere?
Then you use Y/R (i have an 05) for the other to spots.
So when you said
4.) Strip 5 wire ends off so you can wire crimp the female spade connectors on them to allow you to plug them into the relay.
Do you mean strip pink wire, 2 ends of y/r after cutting it, and then 2 random wires that will be used as ground?

No one likes to answer this post. I got this all set up and what not, but it's not opening them up at the rpm i set them to-
i got v/t control set to 4800, hi-> low to 4700
the other two settings are AF1 OR and THR OR
i tried both OR and AND and neither worked
I did a couple pulls with the v/t controller digital display and it showed after i hit 4800ish some changes on the screen. Right side showed 4800, bars on bottom filled up 3/4 yellow. But the secondaries still opened after 5000 (they may have opened just a TAD sooner, but im not certain)
Any ideas, am I using the right settings? The wires are in the correct spots, but i will triple check them to make sure.
Try this, put the ground side of the relay (the one that's hooked back up to the ECU) directly to ground.

don't waste your time, by the sounds of it 2jr are making secondaries a thing of the past
Which is also a $400 (almost) thing, which i wont be able to get for a while. not all us are rich XD and i already have everything wired up just needa get it to work
@molten so you're saying connect the one thats in position #87 on the relay, instead connect that to a ground and leave the rest as is?
