^^ agreed my car runs better without chain! SLIGHT vibrations in steering wheel which I don't even notice anymore!!
tapatalk FTW
I would like to meet up with someone else in my area to see what there's is like. Mine is ridiculous, and I've driven many cars that rattled and they were nothing like this. It wasn't bad until I put the solid mounts in, but I don't feel like replacing motor mounts every 2-3 months. Have the rest of you had a problem with it tearing through mounts since the BS chain removal?
2003 Se-R Spec V. 4-2-1 Header, 2.5 in mandrel bent exhaust from header to muffler with all cats deleted, BS chain cut, solid urethane motor & transmission mounts, butterfly valves removed, Tein S tech springs, NISMO CAI.
^-- negative, and i've had em out since 2004
Yea dude ur prob is not the bsr
Or u really fucked something up in process
Stop trying to scare ppl Away from This mod. Its awesome and I loved the diffrence I felt after cutting chain!! So worth it

Well the car feels smoother now that she chain is gone. I'm not going to lie about that. But after the motor mounts kept on tearing and the flex pipe ripped I put in the solid mounts. Then came all the rattles. Maybe my motor is just horribly balanced? Like I said I would like to meet up with someone else with their BS chain cut and solid mounts to see how the rattles are on their car.

so, is it true tho, that if i do this mod, my motor mounts will go to hell soon and often?
totaled by a hit and run driver!! moved on to an 03 jetta 1.8t
I had the BSR for 20k with stock mounts and mmi's with no issues at all. When I went to solids finally, my stock mounts looked just fine.
You can rip mounts a number of ways. Either the rubber could have been weathered, or if you're missing some exhaust hanger bushings, that'll also increase movement slightly.
the only question i have is how many links do you take out? and what happens if you take out too much or not enough links?
taking out the entire chain? ok and then theres another chain for all the timing. thought it was the same one.
lol srry new to the whole timing chain and all that.
I wanna do this who is down! lol
I'll provide Beer and Food haha

what are the yellow and red link things on the chain? arent thoese the ones that hook it togetehr so couldnt you find them disconnect them and pull out the chain?
I have motor mounts insert and BSR. Between 2000rpm to 4000rpm mine rattles as hell. Even more since I have aftermarket cams. In normal cruising, around 2500rpm, it's fine
