    Default se-r vs spec v ecm?

    I just fried my ecm & im looking for a replacement so just out of curiosity. Is there A difference between ser and spec v ecm?

    Curious also how can you tell it is fried? I am sending mine out for test and rebuild.Wat were your symptoms?

    I have code p1111 and the car wont start. followed the procedure and ended up with that conclision.

    yes there is a difference, spec had 10 more hp(flywheel) and the only had manuel trannies. thats it as far as I know

    that difference came from the exhaust mostly and those are "claimed" numbers. marketing hype

    I thought it was due to the se-r's auto tranny robbing power? and yes that is a "claimed" # but i heard it was actually around a 5hp difference after further research & testing (Se-R owners, not Nissan's R&D team)

    There's also a guy on here w/ na VQ swap still using a regular se-r ecm, so it should be ok...I think???

    Well that doesn't say automatic QR ECU. That just says automatic, assuming it's an automatic VQ ECU.

    So as long as the ecm is not for an automatic the ser ecm should b ok? ser only come with a 5 speed not 6 like the spec v right?

    02 SE-R's came with either a 5-speed or auto. Not sure if the 5-speed will work, but I don't see why not.
