You would feel a difference in top end.
I don't know the actual numbers, but I have a chance to ship QR25de 6spd tranny back to Asia for a customer's requirement because he has a qr20. I had a chance to ride on his car, stock qr25 v.s qr20 6 spd. I really didn't feel that much difference...

Guys.. externally, it looks identical to the QR25, except for the intake manifold.
For tech/service questions, you may reach me at: 281-398-1850. Keep in mind that I no longer manage FI-R, but I have no problem answering tech questions for past customers. It may take a few days to get back with you, but please leave a message.

not too hard to believe IMO. There is a guy on nissanclub who swapped a qr20 into his L31 atima and ran the qr25 ecu. He reported that it felt almost the same everywhere except on the highway. Passing was a bit harder.

Please don't. If you're gonna do it, get it done right with quality parts or send it to travis. We have had our share of fail vq swaps that got sold off to good people

Doesn't matter what others think. Once you pop your hood with a sparkley engine and it runs great, that assumption will likely change lol

I will have to disagree there my friend, my friend just had a QR20 swap since the mech lied to him and bought one cheap of EBay instead of getting another QR25, the lower end tq is missing and it lags quite much on top...there IS a power difference, of about 20hp...plus not Hyundia Tiburon 2.0's will be able to race you...i know since He used to smoke a friend's tibby, and now its not the case.

I like that you have a QR20 btw....they sell them on Ebay. My friend has one in his 02 Spec V. After driving it, then going to mine (I know I know I'm turbo'd...BUT I drive plenty of other QR25's), the top end is not there so much. You can just turbo that QR20! If I'm not mistaken alot of QR25 guys try to place QR20 pistons in for better compression...SO you have that at least.

    Any new updates with this??

I'm debating on replacing my qr2.5 for a qr20 since it's cheaper. I'm guessing with my built head I can make better numbers than a qr25 but what's a qr20 redline?

    - - - Updated - - -

Also what's the difference with intake manifolds??
