Just a place to start planning for next year! Post your interest, Post your thoughts! I want to start planning this one far enough in advance, so that there is NO excuse for not being able to get the time off! I want to at least DOUBLE!!! the number we had this year, and more would be even better! I want the camera people on the Tail of the Dragon to be so confused by all the Sentras running by they dont know which one to take a picture of! This years event went off flawlessly, everyone clicked and we all knew how to drive!
Start saving up for those new tires and coilovers! Make sure you have the vacation time! Remember, everyone is responsible for themselves as far as lodging, food, gas, etc. Start taking care of those small problems as they crop up and not wait till the last minute! There are so many roads up there to run, you could spend a week and not even make a dent in the list!
Where do I stay? The last run, the majority of us stayed in Robbinsville, just a short jaunt to the tail, with a couple of us staying on the other end of the run. This year, @kjg819 and I have been discussing staying here:

Much nicer amenities, a longer drive to get to the actual Tail, but there are so many roads up there to explore, I dont think we will get bored! This is the site that also plays host to ZDayZ, where hundreds of cars show up for their annual meet!

I need to add here, If you cannot afford to take care of your tires, brakes or wheel bearings, you really cannot afford to spend a few days in the mountains. The roads will stress all of your suspension and braking components, not to mention engines and transmissions. Drivers as well, We can slow down for the drivers with less experience, but will NOT speed up because of the one or two drivers that think they are in the F&F movie series. Basically, be smart, be mature, dont push anyone to go faster, it is not all about YOU, its about EVERYONE THERE, and having fun, not proving how fast your car is. There will be plenty of opportunities for you to take off on your own, and see what YOUR limits are.
Another note, I did not see any at the last meat, but your super stretched tires will probably not be up to the task as well, Nobody wants their bead to come off in the middle of a decreasing radius turn at speed with a mountain on one side, and a cliff on the other, Please work your car so your tires are the correct size for your rims, OR, bring a set with you to make the cruises on, you can show off in town, dont try to show off on the mountains!
Once again, the B15U.com Tail of the Dragon Meat!
You missed out this year, DON'T miss out next year!
The dragon!
Make sure your hot rod is included Next Year!
We are looking at time frames now, post when you can make it, but it will be August or September, 2017.
Remember, leave your EGO at home ( @yogi b!), nobody wants to scrape your ass off the side of the mountain, and we want everyone that shows to get home safe. NO EXCEPTIONS!
I would think that we may have a longer meat this year, I would love to stay there a week and run some of the roads we never had the chance to this time! The Moonshiner 28 run, @frobbins and I took on the way back home, its a fun little twisty road with some long straight stretches thrown in!
