    Default Tires, your favorite

    Getting some Bridgestone re760s put on today. Bridgestone and Michelin spend millions on racing tire blend development where others don't. This is why these tires are way better and last much longer and ride better. One thing to never cheap out on is tires. What's your favorite tire?

    @yogi b

    Here's another chance for you for tire and wheel advice!!!

    the Potenzas were fine for me, until I got a turbo. then they were very inadequate, NA, they were great!!! Not so much with double the power output of stock!

    edit to add, so far, I have not found a favorite, but I have adequate!

    So far I've gone through about 6 sets. Stock Contis (crap), Continental Extreme Contact (very good), Falken Ziex 512 (ehh), Kumho SPT (So-so), Hankook Ventus V12 (Very good...until it wears down). Depending on price and available funds, I might try the Michellin PSS or if I'm feeling ballsy, the Federal RSRR.

    Default Tires, your favorite

    Currently on Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 Plus. Amazing tire, grip is amazing for an all season tire. Also IIRC we are talking about a 45,000mile tire!

    I really recommend Michelin and there Pilot Sport series to anyone. Once you try them you'll be impressed. Worth the price tag, IMO.

    asking this crew to name their favorite tire, will get approximately as many brand/models, as there are reply's to your thread! Everyone has their own cost/performance/type of driving style and most are not limited to a brand/model as much as what works for them. or what was on sale when they needed tires. for pure track purposes, 2002 and yogi can give you great advice, for track and racing tires, but remember both of their cars have been highly modified to accept a wider, taller tire without rubbing. while all seasons will work for some people, others will find them absolutely junk for their type of driving. as I said, I had the potenzas when I had my turbo build done, they went from about 75% tread to 25% within a month, my fault, but still.. the Toyo Extensa HP's I have now, are almost 2 years old, on a turbo car, and are still at ~70%, stick well in the wet, very adequate dry traction, and ride well, BUT, they are noisy! I dont track my car, tho, and really have no need for a super sticky tire.

    work in progress...
