    Default Soft pedal after upgrade?

I recently installed a stage 3 Clutchmaster clutch and Fidanza flywheel, the pedal is softer than the stock clutch. I figured the pedal would be harder for this stage clutch is this normal? does is need to break in? Whats a good thing to look for or what might I have done wrong?

I bled the nipple on the front of the tranny, a little air came out but the pedal is still soft...

Okay I was under the impression you bled the clutch with ATF.

You're supposed to use fully synthetic brake fluid. You should also know that brake fluid is hygroscopic, meaning it pulls moisture from the atmosphere. The longer you leave it exposed, or near water, it begins to lose its function. The problem being, water compresses much more than a hydraulic fluid.

It could also be that you had some crap in the clutch line, and bleeding it freed it up a little. If there was any air what so ever, the clutch would simply not return to the top position.

If you're using a DOT 3 fluid, you can try using a DOT 4 because it's generally thicker. That'll stiffen up the pedal a little.

Its going to feel softer. I don't know why, but it does. I had the same exact setup on my car. I was worried that something was wrong, but everyone assured me that it was normal. After the break in period, the clutch grabbed fine and hard.

So don't worry man. Oh and do change out your fluid to DOT 4.

I hope you didn't use this:

This stuff is API GL-5, and can actually damage your tranny over the long run. Get a GL-4 like Redline MT-90 or something equivalent.

    ^ +1

get the redline mix. i've always used it in the spec and I'm going to use it in the evo

for the spec I always mixed 2 qts mtl and 1qt mt-90. I pre mixed all 3 quarts, then I filled the trans to specs

The clutch pedal feels so soft because of Clutchmasters patented leverage system.... that gives you more leverage over the pressure plate. It allows you to have a pressure plate with more clamping force while having less pedal resistance then stock. its totally normal.
