Was asking Redline, but if you are planning on staying with the stock flywheel, just be sure to use an unsprung clutch.

Because the stock flywheel is dual mass and the stock clutch is unsprung.

I WAS running a Clutchmasters Fx100 with a Fidanza Flywheel. Clutch disc was sprung yada yada yada. 2 Springs broke out and almost shaved enough material off the inner flywheel to off balance it, not to mention not allow the clutch to disengage at all. Replaced it with a Stage 1 Unsprung Spec Clutch disc, and replaced the Fidanza flywheel mating disc and have not looked back. The unsprung on unsprung mating is just like stock and I've made due with it.

All I know is that sprung clutch discs, no matter the manufacturer, always have the possibility of a spring breaking out under different conditions. It's not fun.

Probably because they are designed for a solid aftermarket flywheel. There are plenty of unsprung clutches out there.

TBH, get the stage 3 and fidanza flywheel. You're going to be in there so you might as well just get it over with the first time. Yes its going to be a bit more than what you expected, but at least you have the peace of mind that you're going to have a set-up that will be able to handle more power if you decide to go down that route.

I had that same combo in my spec (both n/a and turbo) and I absolutely loved it. Daily driving was not compromised at all, it held 8-10lbs of daily boost, and was was just generally good overall.

Go for it, I've just never heard of anyone running a sprung clutch with a stock flywheel. Should make for some super smooth engagement, lol. Let us know how it works out.

My buddy ran a sprung Clutch Masters FX400 with a stock flyhwheel at 14psi 340whp... it was super smooth, like stock. I have the same clutch with a fidanza flywheel and it grabs way harder.
