    Question 2002 Spec evap problem...

I recently purchased an 02 spec, and on the way home it threw the "service engine soon" light. I took the car to autozone and they gave me the P1448 code which defines an evap system problem. When I got the car home, I popped her open and decided to peek around. I discovered a line not connected to anything. It's a black hose with a green nob on top and a black label that says "evap system port" Does anyone know where it goes? Its the end furthest from its starting point at the firewall. Thanks in advance!

Hey i got that same one ummm idk about the 02's but in mine and in the rear of the bumper they decided to put my charcal canister there....epic fail.....and i guess i smacked a curb and cracked it and it threw that code as far as the line your talking about if it just threw the code im doubting it has anything to do with that line in particular it might be an extra line for things like smog systems that certain year vehicles made external lines for just in case you go somewhere like cali that require it but there are ALOOTTT of things that can throw that code get online look it up and there will be a list and just go through them all till you find it but in the end there is nothing on that list that will cause anything other than an annoying light on your dash and the inability to notify any other check engin problems lol

Also, check my sig for helpful search video. This may help you in the future to find stuff without having to wait on answers. Haha.

Im quite aware of how to use forums & the accompanying user friendly features such as a custom Google search bar. Thanks for a slightly humorous attempt at displaying your overwhelming knowledge though! I read that post in its entirety & I feel it doesnt help me or my situation yet, hence my post explaing a very noticable hose thats not clamped & is labeled evap. Im starting with what is obviously wrong before I go about moving springs with a nail..

Thanks for your warm welcome & attitude, it means the world to me.

I doubt people will contribute to this thread any longer, but does anyone have anything helpful or slightly insightful to share?

Hey man, sounds like you woke up on the wrong side of the bed. Taking into consideration you just joined yesterday, I figured I'd give a hand. Nvm. Lol.

Also, if you're going to come in here and ask for help and then get all pissy when someone suggests anything, let alone a fix for a natorious problem with the sentra, then you should have an interesting stay. Lol

I don't know anything about the hose you described.

Probably not the best way to introduce yourself. You just bought a ten year old car that is known to have tons of little "quirks" that pop up from time to time. This forum will be your best friend as long as you have a good attitude. There are ALOT of knowledgable people here.

What Im sick & tired of & I refuse to put up with are pretentious, trolling, annoyances. Dont come into my posts assuming I dont know how to research on a php forum and make a mockery of it. Every forum has some tho, that f**k that goes around telling people to learn how to search and dismissing any intelligent information.. If you really cant help then stay the f**k out of the posts. If you cant help not liking the way I talk then stay out of my business, plain and simple.

I wouldnt have posted anything if I hadnt already searched, read everything I possibly could, & was still unable to find an answer. I get defensive when people try to belittle me or tell me Im not doing something right. MFKR I know what Ive done and what Im trying to do. I want to try fixing the noticable problems before I assume its something else. What I DO notice is a hose that obviously involves the evap system with a clamp on the end. I simply cannot find the metal nipple it should be attached to.

If youre standing in front of the car looking at the bay, the hose starts just below the brake master cylinder, comes out to the left and stops just behind the intake manifold. Again it has a black plastic label that says "evap service port" attached to a bright green nob. If anyone can please just follow the line and see where it connects I would greatly appreciate the HELP. Its better than ridicule or whack ass assumptions.

If you would have talked like that to me in person, disdain in your tone, assuming I dont know shit, I promise youd be sitting up in the dirt, wondering why you had to be so smug a minute before.

Whatever man! Any moron could read what you put, how you put it, & know where you were going with it. Unfortunately for you it doesnt take much to sound like a pretentious assclown over the internet. You knew what you were doing with those classy "hahas." Dont be a back out bitch now! Grab those keyboard nuts and stand up proud! Youre the edgy internet troll who assumes new people dont know shit!
