I was going to go with safc, but i always hear how osiris is the best bet for our cars, i dont have enough money yet to buy the cable and pro tuning software, but i noticed they have an ecu reflash for $300, will that reflash give me a tune to be able to get into boost and be safe, or will i need the cable and have to tune it more?

Better to just get the tuner version honestly
I got a standard one and regret it greatly.

    1. for Sentra's that are boosted, they will not just reflash the ECU with a "tune on file" type of deal.
    2. You can buy Cipher anytime and upgrade it to more
    3. If you have Osiris standard, you can also upgrade to tuner

UpRev is awesome, I will always use UpRev from here on out. I love the map switching and the stock ECU being used.

Need anything more? Check this out..... (BTW I envy the NY/NJ guys since this shop is close by)

What is limited on the standard? I guess i should say this, my goal is too know that one day i could have the tuning equipment to reach 400hp with my spec. so would the standard cut it?

    UpRev has three products:
    1. Cipher - includes cable. lets you log multiple sensors and save the log file, release fuel pressure, check cylinders, tweak timing, set idle rpm, etc.
    2. Osiris Standard - allows you to flash your ROM with a saved ROM file. It has no tuning capabilities.
    3. Osiris Tuner - lets you open a ROM file and make tuning changes to the maps (ignition, air/fuel targets, fuel trims, rev limits, speed limits, etc.) and static values (cams, fuel constants for different injectors, throttle, etc.). The re-tuned ROM file can be saved and then flashed using Osiris.
There is also a Pro Tuner version which is distributed to Pro Tuners only. They have the capability to download ROM's that need to be modified prior to first use. They also have access to other maps that are not visible to Osiris Tuner users.

All products are upgradable. Once you buy Cipher you can add Osiris and Osiris Tuner at any time for the additional price.

Correct. Osiris Tuner comes with everything - cable, Cipher, Osiris and the ROM Editor.

Generally when you have a shop do everything, you pay 300 for the license and then their hourly tuning rate. You do not get cipher or any of the other goodies however.

ahh ok now i understand it more. what do you recommend i should do?? in the post above i posted what the shop is charging me in phoenix. my local tuner isnt a uprev lisnce tuner or however you wanna put it but i believe if i had the software all in my laptop he will help me out. i paid him to tune me with the f i/c so hopefully he wont charge me much to tune with uprev.

Well the tuner version is cool, but I don't really see the need to mess with everything unless you or someone you know REALLY knows what they are doing and has access to a dyno as well. I would ask what the $800 covers, and how much tuning (and what they will tune) you get out of it. I also wouldn't spend any money paying someone to tune the car with Osiris if they've never used it before.

yea i see what your saying. im going to stop by my tuner when im off work later this evening and talk to him about uprev and see if he will be able to do it. my local tuner does street tuning. when him and i went to the dyno his street tune put out the most power. as for the other shop asking for 800 i will give them a call and ask them what do i get out of it. i know they included a dyno tune.

if you're comfortable with spending the 700$ on the tuner version, i'd tell you to do it. i did, and i don't regret it.

i actually just flashed my ecu tonight and finally took my car out for a drive. i made a super safe map so i could get into boost and check things out and see how my AFR's were, and just right off the bat, with less than 10 minutes of tweaking (and i've never tuned a car in my life) i was making 3/4 throttle pulls and getting low 11's and low 10 AFR's (which is actually really rich, but the car is completely DRIVABLE, and EVERTHING, including the actual flash itself, was done within 10 minutes.

the standard osiris is nice if you really have no intentions on doing more than i/h/e and possibly cams. it's cheaper and you still get Cipher (which is the best diagnostic tool for our vehicles, hands down), but you lose all functions that the tuner/pro versions offer.

if you plan on going forced induction, high compression n/a, or nitrous, then spring the extra 200$ for the tuner version and either put a SAFE tune on it and drive it to the dyno and have it 'brushed up', or find someone that understands tuning cars and get them to tune it. it's not that complicated, really. i'd really like to get more information out about this tuning system to help people, as so far i feel like i'll have the hang of it in no time.

also, something else to mention, what year is your car? i've heard that 04's and 05's are okay with splicing the CAN-BUS system from the instrument panel, but on my 06 i had to get a jumper harness from Up-Rev in order to flash my ecu. the jumper harness had to be pinned in at the ecu because there was interference in the CAN-BUS system keeping the ecu from flashing.

and if you get the tuner version, make sure in the comments box when you're paying that they also EMAIL you the copy of the Altima/Sentra/Versa Osiris, otherwise you won't be able to flash your ecu anyway.

Yea i called lots of places in phoenix. They can do it with dyno tune for 700 but thats for most of the phoenix shops. I think its just better to buy the 700 dollar tuner verision and just have your local tuner do the tune for you since you go to there shop. Thats what im going to do.
