    Yes, yes
I’m using uprev on the four

Justin is also a real artist/scientist tuner

    Back in the day
I was having trouble with my vq in the hot weather
And it was 9 hours easier to ask Justin to take a look, than drive to Louisiana from Ga to speak with Travis

Its kinna late, I wanna go racing, I think the engine is running terrible [stalling, stuttering and generally falling on its face]

    So picture this
Here I am, v6 to the floor, narrow two lane streets with lots of curves, doing over 90 still accelerating [hard]
There sits Justin, totally unflappable in the passenger seat, lap top open, tuning away

I said if my driving bothers you, I’ll slow down , he never even looked up
But continued telling me the facts
I had maxed out the maf, was using too much timing for the hot weather and on and on
By the time I slowed down, the car was running so much better, it was instant joy
    My baby was back

    Imo
This IS the MAN for uprev tuning
    Get it done here
    This guy is the whiz

    To answer the OP

the 06 was able to hold 5 maps, and has a built in AFR sensor that almost self tunes (good for cruising at least, not WOT).
I could make a little video on how the map switching works, but for now I'll just describe it.

You hold the cancel button, and hit the brake pedal the number map you want it to go too, then release the brake pedal.

I want to go to my cutout tune (which is my second one). I hold cancel, tap the brake pedal twice, release the cancel button, and my "set" cruise control light blinks twice verifying my selection. It's easy as that.

You can even use it as a two step, which sounds complicated through text, but once you see it done it's easy. Is all you need is a tune with a redline set to where you want to launch from.
For me, I have a "Valet map", map 3. Redline is 2200rpm, which I can use for my 2step. I simply switch to map 3 while I'm at a stop. Now my currently redline is 2200rpm. I can hold cancel, hit the brake twice for map 2, and continue to hold cancel. The moment I release cancel is when my new map kicks in, so holding it is important.
From here, you can hit the gas pedal, watch it bounce off 2200rpm, and launch. Once you have traction, release the cancel button, and map 2 will now be the current map, with stock 6200 redline.

Because I don't have the pro version, I can't really play with the program :/ I'll just need to wait for Justin to be available whenever I want to change something

That would be the best option if you live close to 2J. A tune done by pros is something you can't beat.

But for someone wanted to flash thats no where near you. Like me, Uprev has been on my radar, but no reputable shops out here.

Thanks everyone who has answered questions and posted helpful hints into using Uprev.

Thanks to joe and justin as well!! justin has posted very helpful hints and pretty much everything needed to run uprev. I now understand a lot more from starting this thread! 2jracing has been awesome on costumer service and providing the info needed!!

And i will follow your posts justin into downloading everything and have my shop call you for the last part needed.

sammy it would be awesome if you posted a video of it. It does make clear sense on what your saying tho about map switching now since you explained it. Once i get a hang of it i might try to do the 2 step because it doesnt sound to difficult at all.

I do hope this thread is helping others and convincing others to use uprev for tuning.

and the aem f i/c costed me just as much as the tuner version has. I wish i knew about the uprev tune software before i got the aem f i/c. Uprev will get me better results as far as i know! (:

Right i agree it does summarize everything and i hope it does help others for the future.

Looks like everything is ready except possibly the vq throttle body intake manifold. So once i learn how to data log i will post the difference with both manifolds.

hopefully that helps others see the difference.

And I would have loved to launch in this video, but I'm still breaking in the clutch. You get the idea.

    yes.

if you have the WOT box, i would just use it instead of making a map for launch control. besides, the WOT box has no lift shift, which osiris can't do. osiris can make your shifts buttery smooth if you know how to tune for it, but it will never be like a true no-lift shift.

unless joe or justin know something i'm not aware of..

Yeah, map 3 has 2200 rev limit in all gears and a 30mph max ("valet map") Lol. You can do all sorts of crazy tunes. But if you found launching at 3k works best on street tires and 6k on slicks, you could make 2 maps for those occasions.

Yes but im not liking the no lift shifting to much. its got a few downfalls to it for sure and i still gotta fix the timing of it. right now its at 100ms and im not shifting quick enough into it. it was at 200ms but felt like that was to much time in between my shifts. i gotta try 150ms next. plus when i downshift at WOT my car like sits still and backfires like 3 times then goes lol

Valet map that is awesome haha i will add one of them also for when i take my car to the dealership or firestone so they wont fuck with my shit. but for now i wont mess with the launching maps i can do with uprev. just keep with the wot box for now.

and cruise control is still an option i can use for my long drives??

I'm not sure on the TB. Cruise control will still function. Mines not becausey speed sensor is disconnected, but once I get that plugged up it'll function like normal
