Default Advance Intake timing by +2 degrees and now code p0011

I just advanced my timing today and now i'm getting the p0011 (Intake Valve Timing Control ) code. but i dont get it, Its not over advanced to trigger the Check engine light, y is it on? And if anyone has done this, did your light come on? This is what i read about it. http://www.engine-light-help.com/P0011- … light.html

I swear this specv ECU is so damn smart.
It's ok tho, i like the way it responds, the throttle response is quicker

yea 1 degree is fine but i did 2 degrees and thats what came up, i asked another person on msv and he had the same problem when he advanced it.
It will happen the same thing as if u was to retard the timing -2 degrees. but with a different code.

i may have found a solution. the light kept on coming onf after 30mins of driving so what i did, was add positive corrections on the safc2 from 1k - 3k. And what happend? the light came on less then 5mins. So i was like hummm, if it's throwing the code then the spark is not burning all the gas, so what i did was added negative corrections from 1k-3k and now the light doesnt come on. So now when it idles the afr is between 15.5 - 17.0. Before at stock it idle between 14.0- 15.0. So from my understanding i had to make it more leaner throught those rpms.

Can someone tell me how can I retard my timing? And how much boost can the stock internals resist? I have a 2002, spec v, turbo at 7pounds, apex management.

I thought the same at first.
Since his post is 2 years old I'm going to say he wasn't boosted at the time. I don't see how he could run an AFR of 15 AND advance the timing.
