You only need open ended lugs if you run our 10mm spacer and 50mm 2JR studs. For 15mm and 20mm spacers, you can use close ended lugs or stock lugs.

If you've seen our hubcentric spacers, they are made just for your spec. Its nice stuff.

    Hey Joe,

J/W. I'm running nismos with 235/40/17. What spacers do you recommend? My fenders are not rolled btw.

The wider the rims means bigger/wider tires.
The bigger the tires is equals to better traction.

You need wheel spacers to our sentra coz the space is not big enough to accommodate high offset wheels.

    (correct me if im wrong)
I think the offset means how far (in mm) inward or outward the mount on the wheel is. For example a rim with a 0 offset would have a the mount centered to the width of the wheel. Then the + offset woulds have the mount more towards the outside of the wheel while the - offsets will have the mount more towards the inside of the wheel (very deep dish). That's why cars with low offsets like +25 or +15 look wider because they extend out more.

For example here is a +48 offset

and here is the same wheel with a +35 offset

Notice the wheel in the second pic looks like the spokes bend inward. That's because mount of the wheel is further inward towards the center of the wheel than the first one. Just wanted to clear that up. Correct me if I'm wrong though.

and all spacers do is simulate a lower offset rim by extending your rims out x amount of mm. so a 10mm spacer on a +48 offset wheel will technically give it an offset of +38. Well really it will extend it out to where a +38 wheel would normally extend out to. Again correct me if I'm wrong.

In a sense you got it right. Offset means, the distance of the mounting face from the centerline of the wheel.

I'm running the same wheels but with 225/45/17 on Tein coilovers. I'm running 5mm up front and 8mm in the rear with Nismo extended lugs. Fenders are rolled. Could I go 15mm in the rear and be OK?

EDIT: I do rub in the rear over BIG bumps. The damn rear fender tab slices into my tires when I hit big bumps/dips at speed. Gotta bend that tab back before I think about a larger spacer. Fronts are not rolled. Should probably do that, too.

This guy understands. Buying spacers for looks is as dumb as stancing a car, and then saying it handles awesome.

Spacers are NORMALLY run for clearance issues, when you need to push the wheel farther away from the caliper/strut, etc. Sure, having a wheel that sits flush against the body side looks nice, but you should shop for one with the correct offset instead of buying spacers.

The VW community is plagued with failures for spacers, and lug adapters, don't go down that road. Many beautiful cars have been destroyed because they lusted after this stance fad.

i'm using spacers not for clearance or appearance but for track width increase

Joe found increasing the track almost 2 inches dramatically aids the cars [b15] cornering
and using concentric spacers and stronger studs, could easily survive the extremes of road racing [not one race but a season]

theoretically and on VWs i agree with you
i doubted joe so in my 1st set up i used wheel offset to attain this
but then your wheel looks like this

and wheels with this offset and size are rare for our bolt pattern

now in [coming soon to] my drive way
i chose more available wheels and spacers to get what i what

i'm confident enough in 2js concentric spacers and extended studs
i'm running them in competition on march 11th in the import face offs
they will be subjected to very high rpm launches[6500-7000rpm off the line] on slicks and these stickies

i'll report back, but Joe and Justin have beat them many times
    it works here
    doesn't fit VWs
    lol
