Default 15 or 20mm spacers which are better and why?

i want to get spacers for my car within the next week or so i really want to go with the 20mm cause i want to really stance the car but i also do not want to loose my drivability which do all of you think is better? i know that with the 20mm ill have to roll fenders and that is no problem my buddy has the machine so thats not a big deal to me. and im also going to go from the tein springs to the bc coilovers so what would be better for that also?

I think you're referring to the wheels' offset.
The bigger the offset the bigger/wider wheels/rims you can install.
The wider the rims means bigger/wider tires.
The bigger the tires is equals to better traction.

You need wheel spacers to our sentra coz the space is not big enough to accommodate high offset wheels.

    (correct me if im wrong)

the wider track of the 20mm spacers not only looks better but performs better as well
this will not hurt your street driving ability at all

here on 2js test car with stock wheels, 20mm spacers and nismo coilovers
    looks good no?

handled beautifully when i drove it
[but surprisingly i did not care for the nismos compared to the BCs]

Lower offset means more track width effectively. Spacers will "lower" your offset by pushing the wheels out farther, ie. a 10mm spacer on a +35 wheel gives the appearance of a +25 wheel.

how do you know what the offset of the wheel is? does it tell you somewhere? Im looking to get xxr 522 in 17x9 what size tire would look good on there im not on coils yet so keep that in mind that when i do im going to slam the car pretty low but not low enough that i have to drive special ways or anything

Offset is stamped on the wheel itself. IMO, a 17x9 +35 is perfect, but I would read through the hellaflush thread and see what everyone else is running and what you like.

will these extended studs and spacers be safe for steelies? I run my car year round and throw on 15 inch steelies for my winter setup.

of course, steelies will work fine,
if you want to play uber safe, use open ended lug nuts to make sure they are properly seated and not bottoming out,
as joe has stated not really necessary, but imo good for paranoia
