Hey whats up everyone, havent posted in years but been lurking still. Just wanted to check in and say my 2005 Spec V hit the 200k mile mark today. Got her back in April of 07' with 28k on the clock. Shes still running damn smooth, been running castrol edge/syntec since about 35k, she does burn a bit about a quart every 3k. No major problems other than fuel pump and general maintenance brakes/struts/sensors. Shes got the Chicago rust but whadyagonnado. Hopin to run her into the ground another 100k haha. Still in love with this damn car lol

What grade oil you running ?
I found going up a grade from 5W30 to 10W40 stopped the oil consumption which was not noticeable as exhaust smoke just a refill before next 10k miles.

10.40 is too thick. 10/30 works well wit me.
5.30 ran smoother and more pep. I dunno

Maybe it's climate related but 5W30 does not give enough hydraulic pressure for our chain tensioner, especially in our summer when temps easily reach 35degC ambient and above.
5W30 is temp rated for -30degC to 35degC and 10W40 for -25 to 40. Temps here rarely get anywhere near -30degC, even in the snow fields.

I've been running 5-30 the whole time, it gets pretty damn low out here in Illinois during winter. Just going to stick with what got me here. Looking to snag the 2j rear sway bar this fall
