I have a Sentra 2006 1.8 S which has the automatic transmission. I am about to start the project of changing the transmission fluid and filter, and I think I found the right filter (31728-31X01), but I don't understand where the 31726-3AX01 fits into the picture.

Here are some links for photos of the parts and cryptic drawings of where they should be placed.

31728 should be the right part. I never opened an auto trans on a 1.8, but you will need to drop the lower transmission pan and the filter should be right there.
