I have a 2000 Nissan Sentra GXE with the 1.8L QG18DE motor.

It just hit me that the 2004 Special Edition came with the same motor...

What am I concluding to?

If I bought a cold air intake for the '04 Special Edition, would it work for mine too?

The motors are the same...I don't see why not.

You can also use the 00-01 se 2.0 intakes.

Honestly if I were you, I'd just buy a cheap ebay intake and throw on a K&N. I wouldn't really recommend a short ram, but it's all about what you want. You can get something decent going for like 70 bucks total. My car came with an AEM intake, but if it hadn't, that's what I would have done.

Are you sure that would work..?
The hotshot CAI was for a 2.0 se, fit fine on my 1.8. Also, 00-01 se's catbacks are the same as the 1.8

this is interesting to know. Good info. have you considered the fujita CAI they make for the 1.8L? Wonder if that will work for you though.

I am struggling with Hotshot due to them going out of business...what exhaust are/were you running?
Sorry for the late reply,

I was running a 00-01 se HKS super dragger catback, and 00-01 hotshot cai.

Run a modified factory intake. Me and a user on here, 051.8s both use the same set up. We both love it and has saved us cash

I bought an AEM CAI for the Spec V and fit it on my car using the Spec's MAF pipe.
